After flying 34 hours from Melbourne to Wroclaw, director Florian Habicht hugged every single person in the audience before the film played at the Polish New Horizons Film Festival.
Matt Fagerholm of RogerEbert.com said this about the film "What are haunted houses if not a safe place to be scared? Spookers is a celebration of strangeness rater than a mockery of it and it is Deborah [A former patient of the hospital] whom succinctly encapsulates its communal power by observing, 'If there are so many lonely people in the world, they just have to meet each other."
Julia Tukiri is Andy and Beth Watson's daughter. Andy and Beth Watson also have 2 sons called Mark and Simon whom don't appear in the film.
Some of the photographs of the film are actors whom performed at Corn Evil in Marton, which Andy and Beth Watson ran from 1999 - 2007. The actors from Corn Evil in Marton were not considered by the filmmakers to be interviewed in the film.
In Australia, Spookers (2017) was given the M rating for adult themes.
