I was not even gonna watch this because of Newt Gingrich and his wife who I find despicable but I overcome my initial reaction and watched it and found it Informative.

Newt Gingrich's name is attached to this documentary, but I watched it anyway.
This documentary paints a glowing portrait of George Washington. This is a good thing. There is a need for documentaries like this, especially for young Americans. America desperately needs heroes and there are few finer than George Washington.
George Washington had flaws. He was a human being. George Washington owned slaves. This is also an important story that Americans should know. It's not told here and that's okay. Students should be taught about Washington and the other founders and slavery, but in high school.
America needs heroes.

I feel fortunate and blessed to be born in America.
I've had an opportunity to travel the globe and see other countries and observe their values and their cultures.
I've also been witness to those people there that have a curiosity about America and what makes it different.
I believe we can look to our founding Fathers and especially George Washington for the Genesis of that legacy
If we examine his actions, his deeds and his beliefs in the worthiness of the Cause, we can see what motivated this man and what gave him belief to pursue and act with the singleness of mind as a great Leader; a General and a great President.
I applaud Newt & Callista and their Foundation for bringing this message to the screen.
I'm a proud American, a History Major and a student of American history. I've seen many documentaries about our history. This by far, exceeds all others.
I particularly like the revelation about Billie Lee, his assistant, this I never knew.
In the telling of the story, it seems apparent that all the elements that created George Washington to become the man he was, were by design, those elements that created him to be the Leader that American needed at a great crossroads in our American History.
He is not to be forgotten!

It goes without saying that our educational system is a disaster and a disgrace. Political Correctness has our children focused on meaningless literature and foreign doctrine. THIS, is what should be taught and viewed in every school in America. We must never forget our history or we will lose what so many have bled and died for. Washington was and still is the pivotal figure in American history. Well done documentary with stylized re-enactments. Keeps the viewer engaged. It glosses over some of mans typical faults and may paint a rather sterilized view... But still a must see for any history buff or Patriotic American.
Presents a deep understanding of the founder of our nation.

A very well put together documentary that highlights some of the most important moments of George Washington's life as well as the key periods of time that gave birth to our nation. I was very impressed with all the information provided & only held back from giving it 10 out of 10 stars because there were a few things I wish had been addressed that weren't.
GW is not just one of the greatest Americans, he is one of the most heroic humans in history.
That doesn't justify a whitewash that mentions not a single human fault. C'mon Newt, a true historian would do a much more thorough job.

...For all Americans! This was a wonderful telling of George Washington; his time as a farmer, as a General and as out 1st President. A wonderful documentary.
