Being an Australian, I'm allowed to be prejudiced towards the television that's produced here. Sorry, but there is a hell of a lot of dramatic crap that falls flat on it's face in embarrassment.
The Letdown is the paradox. It is brilliant. One of the first Australian dramas outside of Love My Way or Rake that I sat down and binge watched.
The storyline is compelling, real, captivating, interesting, engaging........the characters are very likeable and I enjoyed watching them develop throughout the series. The cinematography set in Sydney was a real delight!
I deducted 3 stars due to the emphasis on the protagonist......she became just that little bit tedious towards the end. Perhaps that was the intention, however it detracted from the supporting acts.
I do hope there is a second series.... despite being 40 and deciding not to have kids myself (so I have no real infinity to the storyline personally) each episode kept me engaged and wanting more. A must watch.
