Unlike certain reviewers, I appreciate the back story on Detective Demery. This show is about what made him the detective he became. Part of that is his background. His passion for justice and his compassion for the victims families are some of the qualities that make him and this show great. John Nicholson, the actor that portrays Detective Demery, is so well cast. Many times I have forgotten he was the actor and not Demery! I hope this show is renewed because this has become my favorite show on ID channel.

Love this show watched the first three brilliant acting from John Nicholson and he looks just like Rodney Demery. Rodney really shows his dedication to his job and helping people truly a great cop. Love crime shows and look forward to this when I get chance to see it, not going to put up any spoilers just wanted to say I would highly recommend this show to anyone who likes watching true crime.

Have watched all episodes. Of Murder Chose Me and really like the series. Demery's drive comes from his childhood experience of loss and makes him determined to get the RIGHT bad guy. Demery is a very likable officer and has a great way of handling both the victims as well as perpetrators of crime? Really hope this series continues on for another season after this one.

I very much appreciate the sincerity of this show. I find his back story very interesting and a relevant backdrop to the series. It's also not over-acted like many shows in this genre these days. I hope this one stays around a while. I'm a fan. I've never reviewed anything on here before--my positive reaction to this show prompted me to do so.

Finally. Murder Chose Me is a reality show that keeps it Real. Featuring the stellar career of Homicide detective Rod Demery, this program is a tribute to his tenacity and compassion in solving 100 % of his cases, including the one in which his mother was a victim. At a time when the relationship between the public and the police is broken beyond belief in America, we truly need to see the truth about a law enforcement officer that contradicts the news of today.

This show is hands down incredible to watch, the intensity, passion, and skill of both actors from Rod Demery and John Nicholson keeps me hooked every week. I also echo the reviewer who appreciates the backstory on Rod Demery. The backstory reflects the motivation behind Detective Demery's actions in doing what he does best which is helping people. I hope this show is renewed because it's one of my favorites!

Murder Chose Me is not your average true crime series. The look, sound, feel, energy immediately sets it apart from the rest.
From the promotional clips announcing this new series in 2017, you knew you were in for something different.
Detective Demery's compassionate and heartfelt narration coupled with John Nicholson's brilliant portrayal is as compelling as storytelling gets.
Both of these men are bringing someone's true life heartbreak to light while honoring those families by showcasing these tragedies respectfully and with integrity and grace.
The direction, writing, photography all contribute to this being an all around first rate production.
I hope to be able to watch this groundbreaking series for a long, long time.

This guy is a trip. I am surprised anything ever got solved before he came along. According to him, he is the smartest detective that ever detected, the most successful interrogator, the only one who has enough passion to do this job. I have never seen anybody think so much of themselves and so little of their coworkers. To each his own, I guess. I would probably like this show, if he wasn't in it.
We need to know more about the murder he is investigating instead of HIS life and how he was just like that. I have to fast forward through half of the show. Otherwise it's good. I love a good crime show. The character is really close in looks of detective. I plan to keep watching just let up a little on the I know it all character. ID is the best channel.
I saw this advertised with the picture of Rod Demery and I decided to watch a show. My first impression was that I understood why he was able to have such a success rate as a Detective after hearing his voice and watching how he walked. His voice is very soothing and he reminds me of one of the large cats stalking its prey. I enjoyed how the Director went back and forth between the two men. I thought the acting was superb. John Nicholson was able to portray Rod Demery perfectly but as his own perception of Rod Demery. As for them looking alike. I don't think they look anything alike. There facial features are different specifically their eyes. I enjoy watching Rod Demery's facial expressions when he is speaking. I think it explains a lot about the man. I hope I see John Nicholson in more rolls because he is an excellent actor! Am looking forward to next season!
Great cast...great episodes. I love getting a lot of backstory on the real life detective!

This is one of the most intriguing shows on ID. It didn't draw me in quite as quickly as "Homicide Hunter: Joe Kenda". However, Kenda's most exciting material has already been shown, and it was time for a change. "Murder Chose Me" is the next best thing; a show that glances into Detective Rod Demery's past, and ties it in with the case. This could have easily been a disastrous combination, yet it's most tastefully pulled-off. That is in part due to the acting; which is some of the best I've seen in any show containing reenactments. The directing and production create a chilling atmosphere, without being over-the-top. The last episode of the first season is unique to Demery/"Murder Chose Me". It's worth watching a few episodes. I am looking forward to getting another season!

This is one of my favorite ID shows! It's compelling to know the detective's story, the tragedies and trauma that made him a great detective who truly cares about the victims and their families. It's both heartbreaking and inspiring (at times.)
I can't imagine what it's like to be exposed to so much cruelty and horror everyday. It's fascinating to learn from this man.

One of the best CSI-type shows ever made. Detective Demery displays a methodical mix of scientific and intuitive detective work. An assortment of difficulty-levels are presented case to case. Demery does a great job at showing how to approach each potential clue or suspect. Great show providing insight into the mind and methods of a true professional crime-solver and role model.

I'm completely enthralled by the detective in this show, almost as much as I was captivated by Joe Kenda in Homicide Hunter. I've watched the entirety of that show to date and so I was browsing for something of a similar quality when I stumbled upon this. I feel the production quality is amazing, with a great cast of actors and an excellent selection of music too. I find the most interesting things about the show revolve around the 'flashbacks' that cover Demereys younger years, and traumatic past. The recreations are done very well, with Demereys narration providing an even more authentic feel to the show. It really makes you feel like you were there at the scene, and the way he describes his thought processes immerse you into each crime he covers. The show even goes one further by providing actual audio from interviews with the criminals, giving you an insight into the mind of the detective and displaying further his awesome ability to find the truth. There really are no flaws I can think of with this show, absolutely in love with it, it is now amongst my favorite on ID!
Well done show. If you like murder investigation true shows. This is as good as it gets.
I dont have much to say in this review except that this show is a great addition to the crime hits on ID. Rod demery is a hero in my books of real life detectives. He's not a Goren and Eames, or a Stabler and Benson, Demery is a real life detective with real life stories, and that includes both heroism and flaws, struggles, etc. This show has an actual story line which makes the hour last, but doesnt drag it out. Analytic investigation combined with intense interrogations, this show is in my top 10 of favorite crime shows.
We LOVE this show. Didn't expect much, but loved it from the 1st time we watched it. I'm disappointed to NOT see a return date yet for 2017 fall. PLEASE bring it back! Rod Demery's personal storyline being incorporated into the weekly show is really touching and adds an extra element to the drama. The shows are interesting, the actor that plays Demery is excellent. This is a great addition to ID's stellar lineup!

My goodness, ID channel still has Homicide Hunters with Joe Kenda. That show has been on forever. At least 10 seasons. Murder Chose Me has only had 3 seasons. Also, people have to buy it if they stream their content.(MANY of us stream our content!) So that makes it difficult to get the popularity it deserves- put it on Hulu or Netflix and watch how much the audience loves it!!
There are tons of Joe Kenda shows are free to stream. Only latest seasons are Pay to watch.
Murder Chose Me is so much better in every way: it's produced and filmed better, it's vastly more entertaining and completely enthralling and very binge-able. Plus Rod Demery is incredibly like-able. I am totally binging this show. This makes Homicide Hunters seem like local access cable program. I can't believe it's been cancelled after a few years.

I really liked main cast. The man who portrayed Rod Demery seemed to have been created for this role. Each episode manages to maintain a sense of curiosity from the beginning to the end, I'm sorry about Season 4 being canceled by channel

I love this show. The show is realistically genuine. The character incorporates is life experiences into is cases. I believe this what makes the show so interesting.
When I tell you I have been watching this show all night and day. I'll fall asleep watching and be like, ok I'll see the part I missed while i was napping the next time. Detective Demery makes me want to watch the show over and iver again. Murder Chose Me plays less music than other crime shows. The show not only keep you in suspense but Demery is so natural and has a fantastic way of telling a story. I'm in South Carolina and WBtv has been playing his shows since last night. I was so excited because I thought I had already seen all of them and found out that I missed certain seens or that I hadn't seen it at all. The show is Awesome!! Thanks Detective Demery.
This is an awesome, true life detective show! He's a determined man who solves all his cases! I couldn't wait until Rodney & Jack got back together for our entertainment! Great work by 2 great friends!!
