Pacino said that he wasn’t feeling well, “unusually not good.” When the 84-year-old actor broke into a fever, a nurse was called in to cure his dehydration. That’s when the situation became dire.

In “minutes” an ambulance arrived at his house. Pacino said there were about six paramedics and two doctors in his house dressed in outfits that “looked like they were from outer space or something.” When he opened his eyes, Pacino recalled the medical professionals saying, “He’s back.

Johnny Depp will premiere his latest directorial effort, Modi – Three Days on the Wing of Madness, at the 72nd San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain. The film tells the story of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani through his turbulent life in Paris during World War I.

Modi stars Riccardo Scamarcio as Modigliani. The movie focuses on a chaotic 72-hour period and depicts Modigliani’s struggles with art and love against the backdrop of war. Well-known actor Al Pacino plays a role in the film’s creation and encouraged Depp to direct it. Depp called the experience of making the film “incredibly fulfilling” and thanked Pacino along with the committed cast and crew.

Along with Scamarcio and Pacino, Modi features acclaimed actors like Stephen Graham and Antonia Desplat. While some expected the film at the Venice Film Festival, it will instead debut out of competition at San Sebastian on September 20th.

The film will premiere out of competition, and sees Riccardo Scamarcio play Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani. It also stars Stephen Graham, Al Pacino and Antonia Desplat. Depp was given a lifetime achievement award by the festival in 2021.

It marks Depp’s second feature as director after The Brave, which premiered in Competition at Cannes in 1997.

In special screenings, Cannes general delegate Thierry Frémaux will present Lumiere! The Adventure Continues, a sequel to Lumière!

The Johnny Depp-directed film “Modì,” about Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani, has secured a distribution deal in Italy, where it will be released by emerging production/distribution player Be Water.

“Modì” stars Italy’s Riccardo Scamarcio as the bad boy painter and sculptor, who worked mainly in France and became famous for the groundbreaking modern style of his portraits and nudes. Al Pacino plays international art collector Maurice Gangnat. The “Modì” cast also comprises Antonia Desplat, Stephen Graham (“The Irishman”), Bruno Gouery (“The White Lotus”), Ryan McParland (“Halo”), and Sally Phillips (“Bridget Jones” trilogy).

“Modì” takes place in war-torn Paris during World War I over the course of 72 turbulent hours “that will become a turning point in his life, ultimately solidifying his reputation as an artistic legend,” according to the film’s provided synopsis.
