I finished both retail games, will skip Revelations + the DLCs and find this 3 part release a sham. The Japanese Front Mission 3 had 2 completely diverging campaigns on the PSX and so do nearly all western strategy games. Stop this now Intelligent Systems. Conquest is indeed a proper challenge, as reported, and thus the better of the 2. This makes Birthright the choice for genre newcomers but they should play the more rounded Awakening instead and only hardcore fans should get both games. The presentation is a bit better that last time and the translation is top notch but the story is still predictable animu nonsense, as always. The children mechanic also came back as a rather weird afterthought, so the series should just go back the generations approach of the Snes days, or drop it altogether. I further welcome the removed erotic content, as that crap would have derailed the historic franchise in the future. The shipping lastly needs to be reigned back too and i will remember this release for the deep customization and streamlining, despite some worrying feature creep.

This is one of the best Fire Emblem gameplays, I have seen it, Just helps so much the pair op system, that doesn't feel too overpowered like in awakening, the dual strikes you can get but the enemy can also do, I just think the gameplay is phenomenal, just sadly the story that is attach, is loopwarm and irritating.
My problem with the story is most of all, just feels like searching for people or things, nothing really happened to the character to make character grow, the main character being the perfect person who Trust everybody and the moment he doesn't trust anybody, people are that is not like you. I'm just like this is so boring, every time the main character has an opportunity, to get blood on their hands, It taking away agency, somebody else does the hard and bloody job so the main character can stay clean.
And the tragic deaths are just so irritating because I know there is a DLC where everybody lives happily ever after.
But the gameplay is solid. Birthright There are a bit too many open field maps where it's just enemies, but there are a lot more maps that have things going forward, I think the game is fun creative classes, characters are a bit too quirky, but still cool designs and interesting, I would think it's an absolute master degree in tactical gameplay.
I enjoy conquest but on hard. I think it has a problem that is it's so god damn hard, map are teeth pulling in how many status elements they are throwing at you, just weird map gimmicks. I just always lose the will to finish the game in the chapter where you have to do a one-on-one.
I enjoy conquest story the family that are trying to stay connected even with an abused parents and the main character have to put dad to light..
Birthright has the most open gameplay, but is a bit stale after a whil and boring story.
Conquest is way More strategic but way more draining also.
