Those who haven't watched a zombie movie yet, this one is for you.

Miruthan may be just another zombie movie for those who watched many zombie blockbusters like World War Z, Zombieland and I am Legend but this one has to be appreciated for making such a brave attempt.

This one is not a technically sound movie. But Tamizh cinema grows because of movies like this one.

Don't see much logic in this movie and just enjoy the thriller killer movie!

The concept of Zombies is not new for Hollywood where there are enormous number of movies based on Zombies in fact we can find thriller, horror, Sci-fi and even comedy based on the same concept. Strictly in an Indian context I suppose we don't even have the direct translation of the word Zombie in Hindi or Tamil. So I wouldn't say this is first of its kind movie in India because few years back we had a movie named Go Goa gone starring Saif Ali khan based on zombies' attack. With that note I don't have to say further Miruthan is undoubtedly a zombie flick. So kudos to the director Shakthi Soudar rajan for experimenting this genre which is entirely new for Tamil audience. Long story short the hero tries to save a group of doctors who will find the antidote for a virus spread among the town which makes people go violent and crazy blood thirsty animals. Jayam Ravi who had a wonderful 2015 with four releases out of which three hits opens his account for this year with this different movie. He is the protagonist who plays a Traffic sergeant has done a pretty decent justice to the role. Lakshmi Menon as the Doctor and love interest of the hero. Her characterisation suffers credibility and reality. We see her dumb at times and unrealistic as well. Supported by ensemble TV artists. Technically the movie has got above average graphics and cinematography. But the BGM lets down on a bigger note turning the serious scenes to a comic note. Overall the movie lacks clarity on whether the director had tried it as a horror- comedy or stand-alone comedy or horror thriller flick. We come out confused. It can be a definite once watch for the new concept and experimentation on a Zombie genre. Despite the logic flaws for making it an entertainer my rating would be 6.5/10. -Sivakumar Balachandran

This movies is really a shame for this genre. Hollywood's even C-Grade zombie movies are way much better than this garbage. No storyline, disastrous acting, screenplay and special effects are really horrible. The makeup of zombies is like that the producers are beggers, they don't even have money to provide a descent makeup. I don't write any review but the high ratings of this sh.t compelled me to write this review. Beware of the ratings. This movie doesn't deserve 1/10.

Almost 2 hours full of dumness.

It is Not Good as Hollywood Zombie Thrillers. But You can Watch it For it's Experiment.

I watched it in Kannada Dubbed Version, Dubbing is Good. Short Duration So It is Crisp. Story is Not so Good.

Zombie Reddy is So Much Better Than This.

Gave 6/10 For Experimenting Zombie Thriller Genre in South India.

After reading some positive reviews I started to watch Miruthan. The movie was going really well in the 1st half, it was entertaining. And then the 2nd half came, and the movie started to deteriorate. The climax totally killed the film.

The movie is full of loopholes. A weak point of zombies has been shown here but the characters didn't use it a single time except in the climax. Comedic dialogues worked very well but the romantic portion was so bad and useless. But, overall it was a good attempt Finally, the movie is watchable but I'll not recommend it to anyone.

Miruthan, claimed as the first south Indian Zombie Movie directed by Shakthi Sounder Rajan is a bland watch. The film features Jeyam Ravi & Lakshmi Menon in the lead supported by some good actors and lots of junior actors is mix mash-up of the Hollywood zombies like Crazies, Dawn of The Dead, Walking dead Series.

The movie revolves around a City Traffic cop who teams up with his subordinate for searching his missing sister when the city was infested with zombie virus.

Jeyam Ravi was the show stealer with his sublimed screen presence. Anagha playing as the sister of the protagonist performed well and she was cute and had a good chemistry with Jeyam Ravi. The guy who acted as the friend of Ravi was funny and was good at his role. Lekshmi Menon, as usual playing the lead girl in the movie. Nothing Much to offer. Sreeman was totally wasted in the movie with his boring comedy and facial expression which was irritating (I think he was mocking Jim Carrey by imitating his style)

but the story and screenplay was mediocre. The logic was missing in many parts like the antidote for the much unknown disease which is widely spread in a single night which was impossible.Zombies (i think they are not supernatural) are flying whole time. LOL.. What a joke??? And waiting the whole time in front of hero to get beaten up.. Again LOL.. some of the zombies were waiting as a human chain and telling them "guys, wait let the hero perform".. these should have been omitted..

The film could have been neatly shot and executed, but the director totally ruined an experimental one which could have turned into a masterpiece. Music was noisy and sometimes D. Imman composed that to give jumpy scares to the audience which was not required for the movie. But the Songs were nice, especially Munnal Kathali and Miruthaa Miruthaa (the song was poorly picturized from my point of view).

All in whole, according to me this one is a boring watch ..

I am fan of good movies. Miruthan is really excellent effort from crew in Tamil/India for first time. Experiment really worked well.

I have seem many Zombie movies but it always starts with collapsed city. This movie as initiative, he explains the origin and slowly raising the accelerator. Slapstick comedies worked most of the places. Congrats to Make up technicians, done a wonderful job.

So our hero Jayam Ravi did a wonderful job, hat-trick hit. He looks handsome, actions scenes are really good.

One of the must watch movies who look for different movies.

My verdict is Super HITTT!

This is why I don't watch mainstream Tamil films anymore. You know there's a concept that Kollywood never exploited. So that mean basically they have all the options in the world to make it a right product. Yet still they fail. This is a big example. It was too Indianised. I mean too much masala which a zombie film has never seen before.

The trivias makes the film very interesting to watch, but it was not that good film. The only best thing had happened was the runtime. It was shorter, and then the storyline was very simple, which is okay, but not impressive enough. There are lots of errors, like if you turn your focus other than where and whom the camera aiming, like behind, sides of the screens to have a look at what's going on, you will be disappointed. Because those zombies performances were worst. They just raise their hands and growls, but not making the progress to attack. That shows the inexperience of handling such theme, particularly technical aspect.

I've watched it just after watching Japan's 'I Am a Hero' and Korea's 'Train to Busan'. So India is lagging way far behind to give an international quality zombie film. They target only locals, which is really bad when recently the Indian films are considered a fastest growing film industry in the world.

If you know the language, then you can have some fun with its comedies. Then the ending was terrible, which is not even match to B movies of Eurpean or Holywood. Definitely a skippbale film or watch it on your own risk. Now I don't know what to expect from 'Tik Tik Tik' from the same cast and crew.

The film is not good. Some Zombie scenes were copied from English zombie films. The film not having any logic at all. The film is so boring.

The first Indian Zombie movie which tried so hard to bring those undead back to haunting men in the most active manner, even after infected by virus which supposed to make them very, very sick or dead (when someone becomes sick, they don't go active, they will be like weak and unable to do anything much or as if dying); which zombies aren't actually capable of doing most of the stunts as shown in the movie. Made to be Zombies but act like Vampires, the movie had wrongly explained the characteristics of the zombies which seems to be more influenced by Dracula and vampires especially from the Twilight series and the Vampire Slayer. Terrible acting by both main actor and actress, Jayam Ravi and Lakshmi Menon, who seems to not really know what to do when handling with the zombies other than only using shots of guns (male cast) and complaints of them being patients (female cast). Plenty of mistakes made especially in many scenes of rescues and unnecessary killings which does not help improve the performance of the movie. For those who have not watch zombie movie would like it but it would be better off forgotten and not to be watched the second time.

Miruthan is a fast paced action zombie thriller. opening scene of the movie good. JayamRavi did a very good performance. Timing comedy is very good. Fast paced screen play don't know how 2 hours went very fast. Amazing BGM done by D.Imman. D.Imman done his best job in this film. Final song Mirutha..Mirutha..Mirutha... is a top notch and very well balanced between love and Zombie's.Those who are seeing the first time Zombie movie and those who are the fans of Zombie video game.This movie is a big treat for them. This movie has no logic, very cringe type acting. Story was not good...but i had some fun..it was enjoyable for one time watch. They could've done better if they wanted.

From the very first review on net was so negative and they started comparing it with Hollywood movies and there stands the movie it was never less to any billion dollar movies out there from Hollywood ,

and poor critics losing there's people following by giving false reviews even in national media like The Hindu gave false review for such great movie , I cannot describe any more about the movie these are movies which come once in the blue moon ,get the full cinematic experience Great Movie , Superb Visual ,Setting New standard for Indian Cinema, Jeyam Ravi is rising new heights, with his acting great makeup for zombies not to horrifying which make you see the movie without any irritation Photography, Stunts and VFX get Synced best Pulse Rising BGM By Imman but BGM gets repeat in Loop which make Exhausted which Overlaped by best Scenes

Dont expect a zombie thriller. This is a typical masala movie that has all half boiled ingredients to enrage the audience. You will really have to be brainless to sit through this pile of crap. Shakti sounder Rajan is unfit to sell even tea in the shooting premises. It is hard luck and a miracle to see such incompetent and a rotten lasy mind directing movies.

Good and decent but the action should be more good.

Its the worst zombie movie till now i have watched & shameful to see that it is made by india same lawda lassan story & a person doing kungfu karate with zombies wow what a stupid film it is once in a generation again masala & now in zombie i ask seriously

*No explanation for antibiotic in child's blood -(It is said as naturally,& is unbelievable)

*Even the bitten doctor wears light color shirt it is shown that his fellow people couldn't find out the injury

*Traffic police is doing his job But where are the other police forces?

This movie is related to zombie where virus spread one person to another person and keep on going and no one identifies what happening and why it is happening.

In this movie, Jayam Ravi has done full fledged work hard and has done excellent execution and a glamorous girl Lakshmi Menon also done a perfect role as a doctor.

Until movie is completed, every scene is just like suspense and thriller. One awesome thing is here movie is not only included zombie, but also comedy, love also done perfectly.Even all songs of music was just awesome done by D.Imman.If you listen you will feel some kind of different experience.

When i saw this movie, i felt wow, Jayam is perfect for every character, i think it's great zombie movie made in India, I'm glad to watch!

I Know That It's Not As Good As My Rating But It Is The First Zombie Movie Of Tamil Cinema And Is Great Than Other Zombie Movies Of Tamil Cinema But Its Very Good If We Watch It As A First Try With Normal Expectations I Know It's Over The Top A Little Bit But If We Don't Give Chance To Tamil Cinema So How Will They Make Movies On Good Topic In A Short Limit Of Budget Of 20 Crores We Should Give It A Chance And It Is Good But Not As Much As Bollywood's First Zombie Movie Go Goa Gone But In a Short Time 1 Hour 30 minutes It's a Worth Watch And In Terms )f Casting It's A Good Also And The Problem Is Comedy.
