Roku is set to air more live sports in 2025 after striking a new partnership to become the exclusive U.S. streaming home of X Games Aspen and an X Games event slated for this summer.
The competition, which was originally founded by ESPN but sold to private equity in 2022, will be available on the recently launched Roku Sports Channel. Additionally, the platform is launching an X Games TV Fast channel and will launch X Game Zone, a one-stop destination that will include programming highlights, clips, interviews, archival content and more.
“This partnership with X Games is the perfect marriage between content and distribution—more than half of The Roku Channel’s monthly Fast audience are between the ages of 18 and 49, and the X Games have built a lifestyle brand that sits right at the intersection of sports and youth culture,” Roku Media Sports head Joe Franzetta said in a statement.

The Roku Channel will be the exclusive U.S. streaming home of the X Games Aspen as well as a summertime X Games event.
The news marks the latest step in Roku’s efforts to build a portfolio of live sports rights. The company has recently streamed weekly Major League Baseball games, the NBA G League and electric racing circuit Formula E. It also has invested in live sports talk with Gmfb: Overtime and The Rich Eisen Show.
The X Games were created by ESPN in the 1990s in an effort to lure young viewers with an Olympics-like showcase for sports then known as “extreme,” including motocross, skateboarding, freestyle skiing and snowboarding. Winter and summer events became mainstays on ESPN, reliably filling out the linear schedule even if they never delivered the blockbuster ratings of more established sports. In 2022, ESPN sold the X Games to private equity firm Msp Sports Capital.

Roku is continuing to add exclusive sports rights to its streaming platform.
The latest deal will make Roku the exclusive streaming home for the X Games, the extreme sports competition that was founded by ESPN but sold to private equity in 2022. The deal will kick off in January with X Games Aspen, and continue with a “major” summer competition to follow.
The X Games will be available on the recently launched Roku Sports Channel, with Roku also launching an X Games Fast channel, and an X Games Zone that functions as a streaming hub for the competition.
Roku has been aggressive in seeking out opportunistic sports rights, as well as rights to sports-adjacent programming, as it looks to bolster its Roku Channel and expand its advertising business. It cut its first exclusive sports deal last year with Formula E, and has since picked up MLB games and NBA G League games.

Pauley Perrette made waves on NCIS, becoming a beloved TV icon, but she never cared much about Emmys. She preferred a hefty paycheck over the hassle of award-show glam — uncomfortable dresses and all. The actress once joked that getting an award hand-delivered wasn’t her priority.

Saying no to free Eras tour tickets from Taylor Swift herself? It’s simply out of the question for any Swiftie. But for Jason Kelce it’s reality. The brother of Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, revealed in a November 2024 interview he turned down the Grammy winner’s offer of free concert tickets. Why? Because of boundaries.
Free Eras tour tickets are an ‘immediate no’ for Jason
During a Nov. 25, 2024, appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Jason discussed free Eras tour tickets with host Rich Eisen.
Asked if he’s had to say no to more people asking him “to do something for them professionally” or people “asking for tickets to a Taylor Swift concert,” the 37-year-old revealed the latter is an automatic no.
“Thankfully I don’t get a lot of people reaching out for Taylor Swift tickets,” he said. “It is an immediate no. But, I don’t get a lot of that.

Few writers are as capable and competent as Vince Gilligan. Creating a show that breaks records and ingrains itself into every aspect of Hollywood is no easy feat. However, he managed to do it twice, shaping Breaking Bad with his bare hands and not losing its essence when he was making Better Call Saul.

Don’t bother asking Jason Kelce for Taylor Swift tickets. The former football player and brother of Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, said this week that “it is an immediate no” when people approach him for tickets to the Eras Tour.
“Thankfully, I don’t get a lot of people reaching out,” Kelce said of people in his circle asking for tickets during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. “It is an immediate no.”
The negative isn’t due to any lack of generosity. “Taylor has said she will take care of anybody that I ask for,” Kelce said. “She does say that. She’s very… she’s great, but I still say no to everybody.”
The New Heights podcast host said he doesn’t want to “be the one to impose on that. I don’t want to put that position out there.”

Red One arrives with a lot of bad press. Every movie Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson makes with the word “red” in them has been tracked for being a bloated mess. The superstar made Red Notice in 2021 with Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, which was a lot more fun than many give it credit for. For all its faults, that film eventually found a sweet spot for genre audiences to enjoy.
Now, Johnson is back with Red One, which is so relentlessly lackluster and uninspired that I wondered if it was a cruel holiday prank meant to ruin our Christmas spirit. Red One is like his family film Tooth Fairy on steroids and off its Ritalin. The film has the same endless “knock the one-liners” out-of-the-park energy as the film has a laugh track.

When you think of action heroes, names like Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Sylvester Stallone immediately spring to mind. But if we’re talking about taking action to the next level—Tom Cruise is in a league of his own. His portrayal of Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible series has become the stuff of legend. Since 1996, the franchise has been a high-speed thrill ride, mixing espionage, high-octane chases, and gravity-defying stunts, all with Cruise at the wheel.

However, as the franchise churned out sequels and the stakes kept getting higher, so did the intensity of the action. With each new installment, the thrills escalated, and the risk factor only multiplied. Jack Nicholson is a force of nature. From his acting skills to on-screen and off-screen charisma to his facial expressions, the man is a true example of a true actor. In 1992, Jack Nicholson was a part of the star-studded cast of A Few Good Men, joined by Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Kevin Bacon, and more. Even the director, Rob Reiner, is an acting connoisseur himself having been in projects like All in the Family and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Jared Padalecki is best known for his work on CW’s hit show Supernatural, but that’s not where his career started. While acting as Sam Winchester, the 42-year-old brought a lot of recognition to the show alongside Jensen Ackles’ Dean Winchester. A story that lasted for 15 seasons (327 episodes in total) began in 2005 but came to an end in 2020, after which Padalecki found himself on another show called Walker.

While Supernatural is probably the biggest reason why Padalecki is considered one of the best television actors in the world, the icon initially popped into the scene and earned his first big paycheck on another CW hit.

Every show or movie has a set of leads anchored by supporting roles that provide greater depth to its storyline. There have been instances of supporting roles stealing the spotlight away from the show’s lead, and when their parts come to an end, fans can’t help but demand that they be brought back. Breaking Bad is one show that’s featured a ton of these supporting roles, and almost all of them were quite warmly accepted by the franchise’s fanbase.

What might teenage boys do when they’re stuck in a hotel while filming 1983’s The Outsiders? Well, if it was Rob Lowe and Tom Cruise, they’re going to have a sparring match.
The 9-1-1: Lone Star actor was asked on Monday’s episode of The Rich Eisen Show about his favorite memory with Cruise, and their time working together on the iconic Francis Ford Coppola-directed movie was the first thing that came to mind, especially when they were just messing around.
“He’s [Cruise] so competitive that we used to box in the hallway of the hotel we were staying at during Outsiders,” he recalled. “So much testosterone. We’re 18-year-old guys stuck on location. So we would wear headgear, and we’d have mouthpieces in, but we would legitimately spar.”

Sticks and stones may break your bones, but Jeff Ross’ roasts hurt even worse.
Before the 58-year-old Ross erupted onto the insult comedy scene with a scorching set at the New York Friars Club’s 1995 roast of Steven Seagal, the idea that the “Roastmaster General” could be an semi-official and handsomely paid position probably never crossed any Comedy Central executive’s mind. However, as the market for multi-hour cable specials dedicated to dissecting over-the-hill celebrities through carefully honed punchlines proved to be a massive one throughout the 2000s, Ross established himself as a pivotal ingredient in the roast formula. Today, Ross is the most celebrated and booked ball-buster in comedy, without whom any roast is disappointingly incomplete.
But even before Ross gained notoriety at the members-only banquets for seasoned New York shit-talkers, he sharpened his teeth as a survival mechanism while suffering from beatings at the hand of a high...

NFL fans will soon be able to wake up once again with a cup of coffee and hours of football talk … and they will be able to stream it too.
The league has set a launch date for the rebooted version of Good Morning Football, the NFL Network morning show. Good Morning Football will return on July 29, with Jamie Erdahl, Peter Schrager and Kyle Brandt remaining as co-hosts of the show, joined by former NFL defensive end Akbar Gbajabiamila and news reporter Sherree Burruss. Schrager and Brandt will split their time between New York and Los Angeles.
However, the NFL will also launch a two-hour syndicated version of the show on the same day called Gmfb: Overtime, set to stream on Roku Channel, with the Fox TV stations set to begin carrying the show in September. Tom Brady’s Netflix roast included jokes about the end of his marriage to Gisele Bündchen, his alleged use of plastic surgery and the Deflategate scandal, but no comedian roasted the NFL icon for once kissing his son on the lips.
A 2018 documentary about Brady went viral that year for footage of Brady kissing his 11-year-old son Jack on the lips. Brady was mocked on social media as a result and the moment sparked a larger debate about parents’ affection for their children, especially because he asked for a second kiss from his son after saying the first one was just a “peck.” To some viewers’ surprise, the topic of Brady kissing his son never came up during the roast.
On a new “Comedy Bang Bang” episode, comedian and acclaimed Brady roaster Nikki Glaser revealed the group all made the collective decision not to crack jokes about Brady kissing his son.

Sophistication is a good word to describe James Bond, and Henry Cavill is the literal personification of the word. Therefore, it is not really a brainer that the actor would have been the ideal choice to bring Agent 007 to life after Daniel Craig’s run. However, as things are looking right now, the ship has long sailed and the decision-makers will probably be going with another actor in his prime to play James Bond.

Henry Cavill can be seen alongside the very talented and drop-dead gorgeous Margot Robbie and the trailer is just further proof why the actor would’ve been perfect for playing the British secret agent.

Henry Cavill is being thrust back into the James Bond casting conversation on social media thanks to a viral fake movie trailer partially created by AI that imagines the former “Superman” actor as 007 and Margot Robbie as his Bond girl. In four days, the AI-generated trailer garnered over 2.5 million views on YouTube and further stoked fan interest in Cavill being named the new Bond following Daniel Craig’s departure in 2021’s “No Time to Die.”
As fate would have it, Cavill’s next role is Gus March-Phillipps in Guy Ritchie’s “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.” March-Phillipps was a real historical figure who founded the British Army’s No. 62 Commando and who some believe inspired author Ian Fleming to create James Bond. Cavill’s history with 007 dates back to “Casino Royale,” when he auditioned for the role of 007 but lost to Craig.

Henry Cavill fans can finally see the British actor as James Bond — sorta.
A fake Bond movie trailer “starring” the former Witcher star has been racking up millions of views on YouTube despite being a total fake.
The “Bond 26” trailer introduces Cavill as the new Bond using a mix of footage from other movies and artificial intelligence. The trailer also ambitiously casts Margot Robbie as a Bond girl.
So far, the wannabe trailer has generated 2.3 million viewers, presumably driven by a mix of fans enjoying it as a “what-if” effort, along with some being fooled by it.

Although Aaron Taylor-Johnson is reportedly the frontrunner to be cast as the new James Bond, Henry Cavill isn’t giving up hope.
Henry Cavill has been a popular choice among fans to play the new James Bond and even came close to landing the role twenty years ago with Casino Royale. With The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Cavill is playing one of the men who would inspire James Bond: Gus March-Phillips. “I’m sure Ian Fleming wrote James Bond with a lot of stories, a lot of characters in mind, but as I understand it Gus March-Phillipps was one of the stronger influences,” Cavill said on The Rich Eisen Show.
When it comes to playing Bond, Cavill is still keeping hope alive, although he admits he’s not certain what’s going on. “I have no idea,” Cavill said. “All I’ve got to go off is the rumors. The same information you have.

Actor Michelle Monaghan collaborated with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey for True Detective. What the cast didn’t know at the time, however, was that Monaghan was pregnant. And her pregnancy would have a subtle effect on her performance.

Monaghan portrayed Harrelson’s wife, Maggie, in Nic Pizzolatto’s hit HBO series. Their marriage was often the heart of the series, which showed the evolution of their relationship over the years. Actor and athlete Carl Weathers passed away yesterday at the age of 76, his family has announced. Weathers will be missed not just for the performances he gave but for the way his sense of humor made everything he was a part of better. Whether the actor was teasing Grogu for getting into trouble, appearing as a cheapskate version of himself on "Arrested Development," or voicing Combat Carl in "Toy Story 4," Weathers brought a sense of joy to each project he participated in.
In the case of the "Rocky" franchise, it felt as if the actor never really got the chance to stop playing Apollo Creed despite the character's death in "Rocky IV." His turn as the flamboyant fighter ended in 1985, but Weathers was still (understandably) asked about his part in the action series throughout the decades that followed. The actor fielded these questions gamely and sometimes with a sense of mischief,...

Mark Harmon’s initial plan in life wasn’t solely to become a famous actor. The NCIS star might’ve taken a different path if it wasn’t for a chance encounter with a stranger unhappy with his work.

Harmon entertained a few other possible career options before becoming an actor. On The Rich Eisen Show, he opened up about some of the many hats he wore before the acting bug caught him.
“I had a bunch of different starts,” Harmon said. “I did a lot of jobs, I sold shoes, I was in law school for a little bit. I worked for Adidas for about eight months, and before that, I was doing merchandising in radio in Los Angeles.”
But perhaps the closest Harmon came to pursuing a non-acting career was carpentry.

Four years on, we’re still learning new things about The Rise of Skywalker and the behind the scenes decisions that led to the highly divisive final chapter of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. For some, Episode IX was a return to form for the franchise, while for others, it paled in comparison to what came before, particularly the equally divisive The Last Jedi, because it chose to play the hits instead of saying anything new about characters or their world.
In particular, there are still fans out there debating the movie’s most controversial and surprising arc — Kylo Ren’s return to the light side, shedding his Supreme Leader guise and becoming Ben Solo once again, and the infamous kiss with Daisy Ridley’s Rey that followed. Diehard “Reylo” fans — those who support Rey and Kylo’s romantic connection — would tell you their smooch on Exegol tracks with their arc across the Sequel Trilogy,...

Adam Driver is revealing that Kylo Ren’s arc in the Star Wars sequel trilogy was originally very different from what made the final cut!
The 40-year-old actor appeared in 2015′s Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, 2017′s Episode VIII – The Last Jedi, and 2019′s Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker as the villainous Kylo Ren aka Ben Solo.
During a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Adam revealed that director J.J. Abrams changed his character arc from its original plan.

“I had an overall arc that in mind that [Abrams] wanted to do,” the Ferrari star said. “His idea was that [Kylo’s] journey was the opposite journey of Vader, where Vader starts the most confident and the most committed to the dark side. And then by the last movie, he’s the most vulnerable and weak. He wanted to start with the opposite.

Oh, the untapped potential of Kylo Ren. "The Force Awakens" set up Adam Driver's new masked menace as the main antagonist of the trilogy after murdering his father, Han Solo, in cold blood. In "The Last Jedi," he flirted with redemption during that epic throne room battle before rejecting the Light altogether and taking his place as the new Supreme Chancellor of the First Order. In "The Rise of Skywalker," he frustratingly takes second billing once again to a bigger threat, this time Palpatine (you know the drill) -- until he hallucinates an entire conversation with his dead dad, flips a switch back to the side of the good guys at the last minute, and shares a weirdly rushed kiss with Rey (Daisy Ridley) before dying unceremoniously. Very few liked this abrupt turn of events and fans have wondered what went wrong ever since.
