Ricky Gervais’ career-launching mockumentary series “The Office” is getting a Mexican remake with Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios and Gary “Gaz” Alazraki’s Máquina Vega leading the charge.

Alazraki, who proved his comedy chops directing and producing major hits “Nosotros los Nobles” and “Club de Cuervos” serves as director and executive producer of “La Oficina” while Marcos Bucay (“Cómo Sobrevivir Soltero”) showruns the Mexican adaptation.

As part of the overall deal signed between Amazon MGM Studios and Máquina Vega, “La Oficina” will be available exclusively on Prime Video in Latin America, Brazil and Spain.

The wildly popular BBC Studios format has already been adapted in the U.S., France, Chile and Poland, among others, in addition to the Australian version, which begun streaming on Prime Video this October.

“Una Pequeña Confusión,” an ensemble comedy starring “Ted Lasso” star Cristo Fernandez, Emmy-nominated actor-producer Juanpa Zurita, Ana de la Reguera (“Nacho Libre”) and Vico Escorcia (AppleTV+’s “Acapulco”) is set for a December theatrical release by Mexican powerhouse film company, Videocine.

The comedy revolves around two couples: Lola and Cuau (De la Reguera and Fernández), a progressive middle-class pair, and Iñigo and Majo (Zurita and Escorcia), a young conservative, well-heeled duo. Both couples turn to artificial insemination as a last resort to have children.

In a madcap twist based on actual events, a mix-up at the clinic results in each mom-to-be carrying the other one’s baby. Saw X, the tenth entry in the Saw franchise, is currently in theatres (you can read our review Here) – and so far the movie has pulled in almost $60 million at the global box office, so we’re probably going to be seeing a Saw 11 sooner than later. In fact, the producers were already talking sequel before the movie was released. But during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, director Kevin Greutert, who previously directed Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter (and also edited the first five films, plus Jigsaw) said he intended for the movie to feel like the final send-off to the Jigsaw character.

When asked about what could be coming next for the franchise, Greutert said, “Well, we’ll just have to see what the future of Saw is. There are so many directions we could go, but for me, there’s no obvious one coming out of this film.

The 100 and Fear the Walking Dead alum plays the titular character in the adaptation of Holly Ringland's novel.

As you'll recall if you've been watching the show on Fridays as it unspools on the streaming service, Alice is living with her grandmother after becoming an orphan.

Throughout the first four episodes, the series touched upon Alice's violent upbringing, and Friday's new episode, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, sends things in an emotional direction.

Thankfully, Amazon Prime Video has already announced The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart will be one-and-done, telling a complete story over the first season.

Many limited series on streaming services get a binge release from the jump, but it's good to know the series will benefit from the weekly conversation that comes with weekly series.

Based on the best-selling debut novel by Holly Ringland, the seven-part television adaptation follows Alice Hart (Alicia Debnam-Carey), who lost her parents at age 9 in an unexpected fire. Alice goes to live with her grandmother June (Weaver) at Thornfield flower farm in Australia, where she unearths several family secrets from her past. The native flora and fauna of the Australian landscape becomes a character in the show. Alice eventually finds her life threatened by a man she loves.

A collage of memories of the fire mixed with mystical garden encounters leads to someone opening a card that reads “You lied!”

“I just promised I’d keep her safe,” Weaver’s June says at the end of the teaser. “Can we do that?”

The dramedy skein created by Ellas Cuatro co-founder Gabriela Marcos Payton will have its debut market presentation at Content Americas.
