Shooting at the set that served as 'Peet Se Pizzas' could only be done on Mondays, as it is a real, functional restaurant called 'Die Walskipper', and the crew had to dress and tear down the entire set twice for the restaurant to continue its normal operations.
During the filming of the paddle-out scene the company drifted so far out to sea that the aerial camera couldn't reach them and the entire scene had to be moved closer to the beach.
All the actors did their own surfing and other stunts. Body doubles were only incorporated for the lead characters' most intricate surf moves.
Morné du Toit / "Peet" were supposed to be part of the final Wave-Seekers competition, but couldn't film the scene due to scheduling conflicts.
For the surfing sequences, three RED Epic cameras were used simultaneously: one from the beach, one from the air and one from the water.
