When an android gets shot, blue oil spills
There are interactive slow motion action sequences which includes bloody shootings and stabbings as well as some brutal hand to hand combat.
A child has an abusive relationship with her father. One of the most intense moments in the game occurs when she is repeatedly beaten by her father (offscreen). Even though there are no injuries depicted, it is still very shocking and disturbing. As this is happening, the player can choose to intervene.
From a third-person perspective, players explore environments, examine crime scenes, and perform tasks while navigating conversations and events with other characters. Some sequences depict characters punching, kicking, stabbing, or shooting one another (occasionally seen in slow-motion); characters (including police officers) may also be executed in a handful of scenes. One dramatic sequence involves a man striking a child across the face; players later hear an audio of a man whipping the child with a belt (the whipping is not visually depicted). Homicide scenes sometimes depict human corpses with bloodstained wounds and/or clothing.
The violence in this game is intermitent, but it can be brutal when it occurs. This is also made all the more intense since this game possesses truly outstanding and absolutely wonderful photorealistic graphics with insanely high amounts of detail and extremely vivid visual spectacle, which despite making this game shine on its own, they also enhance the game's somber, dramatic and foreboding nature, as well as its bleak tone.
The violence in the game mostly depends on the player's actions, as every every single mission allows you to choose what to do or say in each situation. (i.e. , you can choose whether to be peaceful or violent. But the peaceful route is encouraged).
A man threatens a main character and puts his hand around her throat.
A man is seen stabbed to death brutally and then you have to touch and look at his rotting carcass.
North is really violent so if Markus is peaceful she gets and mad and vice versa with Josh.

Kara can rob a man's clothes but if she fails he will wake up, very intense.
Because of the highly immersive nature of the game, violence that would be considered mild in other video games is much more intense and disturbing as it takes place in a much more interactive context. While there is no gore and only some blood throughout, there are scenes depicting abuse and other acts of violence so the game takes on a much more serious tone. 16+ should be fine.
Rated R for Language, Sexual References, Bloody Images, Strong Violence involving robots.
