It feels like we were watching real people over a weekend in Wisconsin and we liked them all. It is sad and cute and funny and slowly reveals a deeper middle. The pace is slow but it is very effective at pulling you in.
Flicking through Amazon Prime Video's romantic comedy section, I came across the indie-looking June Falling Down.
Not really a comedy - more a young adult drama.
The acting's great and it has an honest feel about it that you don't get in bigger movies. That was so nice.
I noticed that the director is a co-writer and is the lead actor in the movie. She obviously has serious talent. Seems like a natural.
Nice acoustic guitar in the soundtrack.
Good casting. Had an eclectic mix of folk that seemed much more real than what you often see in motion picture dramas.
Looked good too. Looked like soft natural lighting which emphasised the unpretentious, earnest nature of the production.
Thanks and congratulations.
