Remake of a earlier version of the story. The earlier version, directed by the writer Jason Conway, and filmed by the remake's director Russ Holland, features an altogether different ending from both the remake, and Conway's original short story 'I Believe in the Jigsaw'. The alternative ending became necessary after the cast and crew decided to wrap the production up prematurely. Conway decided to rewrite the ending, use some existing footage, and added a couple of extra scenes, shot by and featuring himself as the 'Jigsaw' creature, in order to finish the film.
