The pic, which hails from the American Documentary Film Fund, will be released on Tvod/digital platforms on January 26. The doc follows Judge Robert R. Even though “American Horror Story” Season 10 has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is good news for Evan Peters fans as the actor has offically signed on for the new episodes. Peters and co-star Sarah Paulson are the only two “AHS” cast members to appear in each of the first eight cycles of FX’s horror anthology series. They both sat out last year’s “1984” summer camp installment, but will now return along with several other fan-faves (see the Season 10 cast list).

Ryan Murphy fans don’t have to worry about saying goodbye to “American Horror Story” any time soon, as FX has just renewed the anthology series for three more seasons before the show even debuts its 10th later this year, the cable channel announced during the Television Critics Association press tour Thursday.
Created by Murphy and Brad Falchuk and produced by 20th Century Fox Television, the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning “AHS” franchise has been picked up for Seasons 11, 12 and 13, chairman of FX Networks and FX Productions John Landgraf, told reporters.
“Ryan and Brad are the undisputed masters of horror TV, having created the anthological limited series with American Horror Story and sustaining its success for nearly a decade as FX’s highest-rated series,” Landgraf said. “We are grateful to them and Dana Walden and our studio partners for committing to another three years. ‘Ahs’ has showcased a wealth of award...

Well, it looks like Mr. Jingles's son Bobby is all grown up in American Horror Story: 1984, and he's played by none other than mainstay Ahs hunk Finn Wittrock. Anyone who's watched the anthology series knows that like Jessica Lange and Lily Rabe, Wittrock is a recurring player in Ryan Murphy's showcase of actors. He first appeared as Twisty the Clown's spoiled apprentice Dandy Mott on Freak Show, then pulled double duty as Rudolph Valentino and model Tristan Duffy in Hotel. Cult's Jether Polk marked his latest appearance on American Horror Story, where he was unrecognizable with shaggy hair and messed up teeth. Like John Carroll Lynch, his onscreen father this season, Wittrock is back, even if only in the finale.
Wittrock pops up as adult Bobby Richter, the son of Mr. Jingles and a former prostitute in Alaska. When we last see Bobby, Mr. Jingles had left him with his aunt.

Spoiler Alert: This recap contains major reveals from tonight’s American Horror Story season 9 finale “Ahs 1984: Final Girl”
Tonight’s season 9 finale of Ahs 1984 didn’t end like your run-of-the-mill ’80s slasher movie. There was no protag looking over their shoulder, worried the killer was still out there. There wasn’t a bad dream that the slayer was still alive. Instead, we end on syrupy note, literally Mike + the Mechanics’ Living Years, as we see the son of the father, completely cleaned of papa’s sins. And Billy Idol is a no-show, at least on the show which has served up singers playing themselves in the past, i.e. Stevie Nicks in Ahs: Coven.
In Final Girl, written by Crystal Liu and directed by John Gray, we meet Bobby Richter, played by Ahs troupe member Finn Wittrock. But instead of Wittrock playing a loose cannon, clown-obsessed rich brat like...

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s episode of “American Horror Story: 1984”)
“American Horror Story: 1984” added a couple new characters in its seventh episode on Wednesday — played by two very familiar faces to fans of the franchise: Lily Rabe and Dylan McDermott.
Rabe played the mother of Mr. Jingles (John Carroll Lynch), who worked as a cook at Camp Redwood back in 1948, when it went by another name. One of her sons died in a swimming accident that year, causing her to go on a murderous rampage until Jingles, as a child, killed her. And now she’s a ghost who appears to be pulling the strings behind all the chaos at the camp.
Then there was McDermott, who showed up on “1984” tonight as a serial killer named Bruce. He tried to kill Brooke (Emma Roberts) and Rita (Angelica Ross), but they managed to escape, tying him to a post,...

While it’s anyone’s guess what the rest of American Horror Story: 1984 has in store for the merry murderers of Camp Redwood, there’s another (arguably more pressing) mystery on viewers’ minds: When is Sarah Paulson going to show up, and who will she be playing?
Paulson, who has been a key player in all eight previous installments of American Horror Story, is reportedly set to appear in a reduced capacity sometime this season — and with only four episodes left, including the show’s milestone 100th hour, the clock is ticking.

In her time reigning over American Horror Story, Jessica Lange learned to set some boundaries with Ryan Murphy. "There are things that I tell [Ryan Murphy] I won't do," the actress said at a recent press conference for The Politician, her third and newest series with the television mastermind. As reported by Decider, Lange added, "We have come to a kind of understanding."
"The thing that interests me is the madness."
So what did she try to stay away from during her four seasons of American Horror Story? Well, the horror. "Over those four years of doing that I wasn't involved in the really gory aspect of that series. I said from the beginning, the thing that interests me is the madness, the psychological danger, the failings," Lange said. "But I did not want to do the other stuff. Sid Haig, a veteran character actor best known for his later-in-life roles in Rob Zombie’s horror films House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, died Saturday, his wife Susan Haig announced today on Haig’s Instagram page. He was 80. No cause of death was given.
“He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be,” Susan Haig wrote. “He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us.” See the post below.
Haig’s credits stretch back to the early 1960s, when he eked out a career in small TV and film roles (he was King Tut’s Royal Apothecary on Batman and a bandage-wrapped mummy on an episode of The Lucy Show) then keeping busy with similar appearances through the ’70s, the ’80s and into the 2000s.
But Haig enjoyed newfound attention when Zombie cast him as evil, clown-faced Captain Spalding in the 2003 cult horror film House of 1000 Corpses, its 2005 sequel The Devil’s Rejects and a 2019 follow-up 3 From Hell. Years before the similar Twisty the Clown terrorized American Horror Story: Freak Show, Haig won Fangoria Awards, became a favorite of horror and exploitation fans and made an appearance in Quentin Tarantino’s 2004 pic Kill Bill Vol. 2.
In an Instagram post today, Zombie shared a snapshot of himself and Haig at the Edith Head Costume building at Universal Studios, taken around the turn of the century. Haig is wearing a filthy, tattered clown costume.
“We were both having a good laugh at this crummy, ill-fitting clown suit,” writes Zombie. “It took a few tries to get his look right, but we got there. Who knew that crazy clown would become an iconic horror figure? Certainly not the two guys in the picture.”

While you processed the simultaneously poppy and freaky '80s vibe of American Horror Story: 1984, you might have scratched your head over why the terrifying Benjamin "Mr. Jingles" Richter, the ear-obsessed creep who killed nine campers, looks familiar. For those who know American Horror Story in and out, it's because the actor behind the murderer, John Carroll Lynch, has played a - let's say twisted - character before: Twisty the Clown from Ahs: Freak Show. Plus, Lynch is a pretty prolific character actor who's been featured on the big and small screens over the years.
First, let's talk shop about his new character. Ahs: 1984 immediately introduces us to Mr. Jingles in the first episode when they flash back to the killer murdering nine people at Camp Redwood in 1970. There is one survivor from his attacks: Margaret Booth (Leslie Grossman), who is the evangelized owner of the camp in the...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched the season premiere of “American Horror Story: 1984” entitled “Camp Redwood.”
Welcome back to “American Horror Story,” which in its ninth season travels back in time to the 1970s and 1980s to play in the slasher genre.
Only one episode into the season, it already looks to be a fun ride because “1984” is the first season since “Freak Show” to be set in the past. This year seems like a real treat for campy horror, though, harkening back to not only the original “Friday the 13th” movies but also the fun knockoffs like “Sleepaway Camp” and “Summer Camp Nightmare.”
This is also the first season without Sarah Paulson or Evan Peters. Losing not one but two heavy-hitters leaves “Horror Story” with some big shoes to fill; luckily, Leslie Grossman and Billie Lourd have come on strong in recent years to fill that Paulson void.

If you've been holding out hope for Jessica Lange to return to any future editions of American Horror Story, then we have some bad news:
Jessica Lange has seemingly quashed a return as a new character to the franchise.
The actress appeared in the first four seasons of the FX anthology, before returning as a guest for last year's Apocalypse.
But Lange does not like the idea of starting as a new character.
"I don't think I would want to start from scratch and create a character," the actress told The Wrap.
"And also I think a lot of the actors that I was working with, people that I really love working with, like Sarah [Paulson] or Frances [Conroy] or Kathy [Bates] – I don't know who's in this new season [1984], but I don't think it would be the same."

As “American Horror Story: 1984” premieres Wednesday, fans are wondering what twists and turns the latest season of Ryan Murphy’s FX anthology series has in store for them. Though we don’t know much yet about Season 9, one thing we can tell you with almost 100% certainty is it will not include an appearance by “Ahs” alum Jessica Lange. The actress told TheWrap she doesn’t think she’ll be coming back to the franchise again after making her long-awaited return for last year’s installment, “Apocalypse.”

With season nine on its way, Murder House remains the jewel in American Horror Story's blood-soaked crown. Here's why...
This article comes from Den of Geek UK.
American Horror Story: Murder House marked horror's first foray into serialized television. While shows like The Twilight Zone and Freddy's Nightmares gave their audiences fresh stories each week, and The X-Files and its ilk had followed a case-of-the-week format with little in the way of connective tissue between episodes and seasons, Ahs was the first horror-centric show to take a long-form approach to storytelling.
The format wasn't the only groundbreaking aspect of the show. Series co-creator Ryan Murphy crafted a truly unique signature style, lying somewhere in tone between The Shining and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, with dashes of slasher and lashes of lipstick added to the mix: pulpy event TV with avant garde sensibilities.

She’s baaack! Jessica Lange returned to the “American Horror Story” franchise in “Apocalypse” after a four-year break and wound up receiving an Emmy nomination for reprising her role of chain-smoking nosy neighbor Constance Langdon. As this eighth season contained continuing storylines and characters from both “Ahs: Murder House” and “Ahs: Coven,” the Emmys forced it to compete as a drama series this year, as opposed to a limited series which is where first seven installments competed. As such, Lange ended up nabbing a nomination as Best Drama Guest Actress. Can she now scare up her fourth career Emmy win?

Jessica Lange hasn’t been a regular on American Horror Story in four years, but all it took for her to snag her ninth Emmy nomination was just a few minutes on screen over two episodes in Season 8, Apocalypse. For this short but brilliant turn reprising her Season 1 role as Constance Langdon, Lange could potentially win her fourth Emmy statuette, adding to the two Oscars on her mantelpiece. American Horror Story has put Lange on the Emmy map as a repeat winner—she already won for the chain-smoking, nosy neighbor Constance role in 2012, and in 2014, took home the gold for playing Fiona Goode in American Horror Story: Coven.
In Apocalypse, you play a character that you left behind many seasons ago. Did you think you’d ever go back to Constance?
Never. No, because the premise was, you do one season, you would play that character, and then that was it.

When the 2019 Emmy nominations were announced in July, FX’s “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” found itself with five nominations including Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Jessica Lange. But wait, “Ahs” isn’t considered a drama, so what gives?
As it turns out, Season 8 was forced to compete in the drama categories at the 2019 Emmys because of a wonky rule that stated it had too many continuing storylines and characters to enter as a limited series, which is where it successfully competed the seven prior years. Not only did the switcheroo result in Lange receiving an Emmy bid, but the program earned five total — that’s even more than recent “Ahs” installment “Roanoke,” which scored four.

Before passing the torch to Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange reigned supreme (so to speak) on American Horror Story, so who better to rank the FX drama’s earlier seasons?

With “American Horror Story” regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters both reportedly sitting out of “1984,” at least in major roles, the new season will be one for the record books as they’re the only actors to appear in the first eight installments. Rest assured: Several “Ahs” stars will return for Season 9 of FX’s anthology series, including Emma Roberts, Cody Fern, John Carroll Lynch, Leslie Grossman and Billie Lourd. But which former cast member are You still hoping receives a welcome back invite from showrunner Ryan Murphy? Check out my five suggestions below, and then be sure to vote in the poll.

American Horror Story's ninth season is going to look completely different from previous seasons.
The latest big change comes in the form of Sarah Paulson who likely not be appearing on American Horror Story: 1984 in any capacity.
Per Variety, Paulson is hard at work on the upcoming FX series, Mrs. America, and will not have a regular role on the horror franchise for the first time since American Horror Story Season 1.
Related: American Horror Story: 1984 Gets FX Premiere Date
Despite appearing on three episodes of American Horror Story Season 1, Paulson was an instant favorite with fans, and she went on to have a bigger role on seasons 2 through 8.
A cameo is entirely possible for Paulson, but the series will not feel the same without the actress having a big part.
The news comes months after it was revealed that Evan Peters would be sitting out of American Horror Story: 1984, meaning two fan-favorites are out.

Now this is scary. Sarah Paulson is reportedly not going to be starring in FX’s upcoming “American Horror Story: 1984,” per our sister site Variety. However, the door remains open for the “People v. O.J. Simpson” Emmy winner to pop up in a cameo in this ninth installment, which will debut on Wednesday, September 18. Of note, Paulson is the only female actor to appear in all eight seasons so far, with co-star Evan Peters being the only male actor; Peters has also said that he won’t be back for Season 9.

FX’s anthology series “American Horror Story” is going back in time to 1984 for its upcoming ninth installment, which will debut on Wednesday, September 18, the network announced Monday. Besides the premiere date, little is known about “American Horror Story: 1984” except for two previously announced cast members. “Ahs” scene-stealer Emma Roberts is back again after popping up in “Coven,” “Freak Show,” Cult” and “Apocalypse,” while Olympic skier and “Sharknado 5: Global Swarming” star Gus Kenworthy joins the franchise for the first time.

It's almost time to return to the horrifying world of American Horry Story.
FX has finally revealed when the hit drama series will return for its ninth season, titled American Horror Story: 1984.
The series will return Wednesday, September 18 in the 10/9c slot.
Not a lot is known about American Horror Story Season 9, save for the fact that it will pay homage to 1980s slasher movies.
That much was revealed thanks to a teaser that was dropped earlier this year.

Here, he will play United States Border Agent Ben Clemens, who on the day of his mandatory retirement, discovers a tunnel used for black market smuggling into the United States from Mexico. After choosing to take advantage of this Narnia-like portal for illicit activity, Clemens finds himself targeted by an old enemy made on the job, a criminal mastermind he’s spent his career chasing.

Ryan Murphy dropped the title for this fall’s American Horror Story‘s season 9, which will be known as Ahs 1984.
It’s a throwback to ’80s slasher movies as evident in the clip that Murphy posted on social showing a teenage girl fleeing a dark-Jason-like guy wielding a knife. The year 1984 is when Friday the 13th was billed as its “Final Chapter”. There were also such genre faves as Nightmare on Elm Street and Children of the Corn which hit the screen that year.

American Horror Story appears poised to unleash a good ol’ summer camp slasher for Season 9.
Series auteur Ryan Murphy shared on Instagram Wednesday morning a teaser video in which a masked marauder stalks a young female through the woods, eventually plunging his dagger through the cabin door behind which she hides. A logo screen then pops up revealing the season’s “1984” subtitle, scrawled in red in the bloody style of 1980s slasher films.
On the casting front, it was previously announced that Ahs/Scream Queens vet Emma Roberts will return for more scares, with Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy playing her character’s beau.

American Horror Story‘s crossover-crazed eighth season has been rendered ineligible to compete in Emmy’s 2019 Limited Series race.
The Television Academy announced on Tuesday that because Ahs: Apocalypse contained “continuing story threads, characters and actors reprising those same character roles from previous seasons” — specifically the Murder House, Coven and Hotel installments — it is being “re-categorized” from the Limited Series category to Drama Series.
The change also applies to Season 2 of USA Network’s The Sinner and Season 2 of Netflix’s American Vandal.
The Academy is quick to note that this “re-categorization” is effective for the 2019 Emmy Awards competition only.

Uber-producer Ryan Murphy has made small screen stars out of A-listers and fresh faces alike.
Angela Bassett (pictured above)
Bassett starred in four seasons of “American Horror Story”, earning two Emmy nominations. She helmed two episodes as a director, the first during her final season as an actor, on “Roanoke,” before Murphy invited her back behind-the-scenes for a pivotal episode in the seventh season, “Cult.” She also signed on to star in and serve as executive producer on Murphy’s first-responder drama “9-1-1” for Fox, which is now in its second season.
Kathy Bates
Bates joined the Ryan Murphy family in 2013, with the third season of “American Horror Story,” subtitled “Coven,” and continued on through the sixth season, “Roanoke.” The Oscar winner scored three nominations and one win to date with her work on Murphy’s anthology before moving over to “Feud,” in which she played actress Joan Blondell.

Well, we made it through another season of American Horror Story. The harrowing season finale is behind us. Some fans loved Apocalypse, some hated it. But now, it's time to look forward. As you probably know, the series has been renewed for two more seasons, so we better settle in with all this dread. With that in mind, we're wondering what we might get out of the next installment.
Of course, we don't have any concrete information about season nine. I mean, there's a really solid chance it will include Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson, at least, since they've been in every season. But as for the theme and the contents? That's really a mystery until creator Ryan Murphy clues us in. But that's not going to stop us from firing up our big ol' theory engines, now is it? Based on some hints we may have gotten in Apocalypse,...

Sarah Paulson just confessed on Instagram that she stole one item from the set of “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” and that “it’s now hanging in my house.” Can you guess what it is? Here’s a hint: the object in question was spotted in the final minutes of Season 8 when Paulson’s Cordelia Goode and Billie Lourd‘s Mallory reunited in the alternate timeline. Paulson joked that she “literally shot the scene, took it off the wall and put it in my car.”
So what did Paulson run off with? The hand-drawn painting of Myrtle Snow, of course! See Paulson’s Instagram post below.

In the final episode, Mallory time-traveled and killed Michael (Cody Fern) at a young age, thereby changing the course of history so that Cordelia never had to bring Frances Conroy‘s Myrtle back to life.

With only one episode left in its run, American Horror Story: Apocalypse has a ton of ground to cover — and earth to scorch — in Wednesday’s finale (FX, 10/9c). And while we know this franchise better than to expect answers to all of our questions, we wouldn’t mind a more conclusive ending than we’ve received in seasons past.
And we’re not talking about basic questions like “How will the witches stop Michael?” or “Wait, is that the back of Angela Bassett’s head in the promo?” We’re talking about specific, (mostly) plot points that have been...

Exclusive: Bette Midler is the latest Hollywood star set to join Julie Taymor’s Gloria Steinem biopic The Glorias: A Life On The Road.
Director Taymor revealed the attachment yesterday afternoon during a buzzed-about Afm buyer presentation for the movie, which Steinem herself video-called in for from New York. Many of the key indie and studio buyers were in the room and I hear offers are already being made from major markets.
Oscar-winner Julianne Moore will play feminist icon Steinem with fellow-Oscar winner Alicia Vikander in talks to play the activist between the ages of 20-40. The movie, based on Steinem’s memoir, will follow her journey to become a crusader for equal rights and her groundbreaking work as a journalist and campaigner. The Ms. magazine founder’s story has added resonance in this Time’s Up and #MeToo era. The production is in discussions with a host of Hollywood A-Listers to join the project.

With Halloween well upon us, it is only natural to want to enjoy some spooky content from time to time.
There aren't many horror shows on TV that last long, possibly because the former doesn't always fit for a weekly watch when a binge format makes more sense.
Regardless, a show doesn't have to be in the horror genre to have an episode or a specific scene that stays with you long after.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Premiere Review: October Country
These scenes have been pulled from different shows, all of which can pride themselves on having some of the most iconic frights on their roster.
The gifs used in this slideshow aren't from those specific scary scenes so that everyone could scroll through it safely, but they are still a nice tease of what is to come on these shows.

This week's episode of American Horror Story is filled to the brim with familiar faces, more than you probably realized. The most obvious, of course, are the original occupants of the dreaded Murder House: Evan Peters as Tate! Taissa Farmiga as Violet! Dylan McDermott as Ben! Connie Britton as Vivien! Jessica Lange as Constance! Amid all the excitement, you may have missed one other returning alum who stretches all the way back to season two's Asylum. Well, and there is also the fact that she's missing quite a bit of the defining features related to her other character.
We're talking about Naomi Grossman! Of course, you remember Grossman best as Pepper from Asylum and later Freak Show. Pepper is such a special character in the Ahs universe; she's the first character to have crossed over between seasons, which means she was also the first hint that all the seasons are somehow connected.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Return to Murder House,” the sixth episode of “American Horror Story: Apocalypse.”
It was finally here, “American Horror Story” fans. “Apocalypse’s” “Return to Murder House” was Jessica Lange’s first appearance on the show since “Freak Show.” Sarah Paulson has done an excellent job taking over as Ryan Murphy’s leading lady, but Lange is the grand dame of “Ahs” and expectations could not be higher. Luckily, Lange’s reprisal of Constance Langdon did not disappoint.
But before Ms. Lange’s highly anticipated appearance, Emma Roberts and Billy Porter were hilarious together as Madison and Chablis, posing as a married couple and buying the Murder House. Their facial expressions and one-liners during the meeting at the bank were worth the price of admission alone this week — “What can we say, the wife’s a sucker for a farmhouse kitchen?...
