I have watched David Krumholtz works before, but I couldn't believe that he can amazingly brings Gigi's character -- without a doubt -- so brilliantly!! This show has a huge potential. It's funny, it's so real. The stories are so real just like everyday's life story. I am sure the haters out there will say something else, but if you are relate to the story (for example: you have a grandmother who sometimes just being a grandmother who is bitter and say whatever on her mind), or if you just love a great comedy, you will fall in love with Gigi. I can feel this show has what it takes: excellent WRITERS and amazing casts! Yes this is a guy with an old lady appearance and an old lady dress but the make-up artists do a hell of job to make the character not looking like a clown. Bravo!! Love the character! It's brilliantly bitchy, real and funny!

so you watch it, thinking
'okay, a guy dressed up. why does it look so realistic/familiar in it's stereotype? ..his hands look like a woman's. that is weird.'
so, there are a few laughs, but you are still thinking
'it's okay, but..yeah, should i watch it till the end?'
and then the really crazy vibe hits you. it took me some time - but it is absolutely worth watching!!!!!
for me it felt as if he/she was the only one in the show who was in on the joke and the guy playing the p.a. was just the naive victim and didn't know what he got himself into.
both characters are fabulous. dry humor the best.

Brilliant!. Made me laugh so loud, it can represent any person that in some way you have may have know or have met in your life. And to see that the main character is focus on this old woman, that is played by a young man, wow!. Lots of curious, humorous, and "no she didn't SAID that!!" Episodes. Great actors, funny lines, a refreshing comedy, that shows in a sarcastic and so real way the life of an old woman, who is a widow, and want to give life a chance. After her husband left her millions, she is trying to live life at how she thinks would be her fullest. Bringing new perspective and meaning to how would it be For a real person to act in different situations when you got the money to do it. I give it 10!
Gigi does it is a fantastic addition to the current television lineup, which is in dire need of laughter. The sitcoms that are on this season are abysmal. Give this a chance! We don't give a lot of show a chance to have a second season, and a honestly believe that this deserves one. More than just funny people, comedians, actually have a sense of humor, we should all laugh. I think everyone can have a laugh at this show.David Krumholtz does an amazing job, and the make-up is actually quite well done as well. I didn't really expect that much production quality from IFC, but it's pretty good. If you don't enjoy this show, there's a VERY SPECIAL place in heaven for you.
This show should have been given another season(s) !!! The creativity of this sophisticated, humorous comedy is like chicken soup, healing for the soul and spirit- full of life and energy. The show is simple while dealing with the complex issues of everyday life and how people interact solving the problems, fears and joy of living. Gigi showed that being Jewish is not only a religion, but a way of life 24/7. The show is a representation of real people, real life! Gigi Does It is in the same class with Will and Grace, All in the Family, Sanford and Son, Roseanne, The Jeffersons, The Golden Girls, Maude and others - Success, great concept, acting and writing.
All of these shows are real people with everyday problems who the viewer could watch and laugh at themselves experiencing the same joys, issues and conflicts of life. The viewer could relate!
Gigi Does It had one taxing issue..........THE WRONG NETWORK - there is nothing wrong with the network, but the network has a limited audience and notability, with limited ability to promote the talent and richness of the show.
I hope Gigi Does It caught the eye of another network or HBO, Netflix, etc.
I'm sure Gigi has much more to share with our lives!!!

IFC is a low rated cable channel that airs a scant few hours of "original" programming every year that's none too original, mostly because their shows are based on preexisting pod-casts and SNL skits. Actor David Krumholtz, under heavy prosthetic makeup, had been dressing in drag on the web for some time, portraying a Laine Kazan style yenta that also scrounges a fair share of Linda Richman from "Coffee Talk." While this character has been described as the proverbial "Bubbe," the shtick seems reminiscent of Martin Short's Jiminy Glick, namely the thick makeup striving to mask a grating, one note character.
For inexplicable reasons Krumholtz was given a weekly half hour series revolving around this impersonation's exploits as "she" utilizes a heretofore undiscovered fortune to indulge in a bucket list.
Indulgence is a key word for this series that literally has no reason to exist. The novelty of Krumholtz in drag wears out fast and the sole trait designated for his character is to say bawdy things, essentially the ribald old lady routine that's the province of Betty White.
Debuting to scathing reviews and pathetically paltry ratings, "Gigi Does It" is one of the most bewilderingly bad TV shows of all time. Unfortunately, it's not "so bad it's good" and is just an embarrassment. It's perplexing to think how IFC executives felt there was ever an audience for this fiasco, even more mystifying is the fact that the lead-in is a sports comedy, a typically hackneyed affair from Denis Leary revolving around amateur hockey players.
With all the fresh talent waiting to be discovered, as well as veteran voices deserving of a comeback, IFC has committed to many weeks of this horrendous show revolving around a man in drag saying crass things. Krumholtz isn't really to blame, he's gifted and could pull off a "Tootsie" style premise ala the way "Bosom Buddies" mimicked "Some Like It Hot," but this is more about the judgment of whoever's running IFC that this conceit was somehow deemed worthy of a weekly vehicle.
Even the worst shows often get cult followings, but that won't be the case for "Gigi Does It" since "Sophie's Choice" is funnier. That this travesty could attract Lesley Ann Warren as a guest star, playing second banana to this third rate kosher Madea, is additionally depressing.
Go to your neighborhood 7-Eleven and watch the monitors that show advertisements for coffee, Slurpees and beef jerky because that's more entertaining than this garbage.
