Exclusive: Popular Channel 4 panel show 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown appears to be the latest to have been hit by the network’s slowdown.
Deadline is told that Channel 4 has been sitting on the current series since it was delivered last year and there are no plans to record a new series this year.
“We have already shot episodes which are ready to air,” said a spokeswoman. “To keep the show current we will shoot further episodes nearer transmission.”
Channel 4 wasn’t able to say when the new episodes will be shot.
Produced by Would I Like To You? maker Zeppotron, Cats Does Countdown is a Jimmy Carr-hosted mash-up of comedy panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats and daytime quiz Countdown. It has been a ratings success, is one of Channel 4’s longest running unscripted shows and has aired more than 150 episodes over the past 12 years.

Next to nursey rhymes and small girls in frilly dresses, one of the things horror filmmakers are most keen to ‘subvert’ are fairy tales. From The Company Of Wolves and Deep In The Woods to Hunted and Final Girl, there are more Red Riding Hoods than you can shake a stick at, Hansel And Gretel feature in both US and South Korean versions, and The Curse Of Sleeping Beauty also makes its mark. Andy Edwards’ Cinderella’s Revenge is another offering in this tradition, mixing an appreciation of its story’s bloody roots with a gory modern twist.
Although Edwards directs, he didn’t write the script, and that shows in what is probably his weakest effort to date. It’s a film that doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be. For the first 45 minutes it plays it very straight, the only intentional squirm moment involving mutilations...

Former Hunted contestant Emily Dredge has opened up about suffering panic attacks and undergoing therapy since the show aired.
Channel 4's latest reality show turned 14 contestants into fugitives, on the run from real-life police and intelligence operatives.
Hunted: Should there be a second series of the Channel 4 show?
Dredge was among the four contestants to successfully evade capture during the competition - but her win came at a heavy price.
In an op-ed for The Guardian, Dredge acknowledged that she remains haunted by living 28 days on the run for Hunted.
"I was actually prepared to die to win it; I wouldn't be caught at any cost. That's how real it was," she recalled.
Her determination included covering up that she was mere days away from needing hospitalisation for pneumonia - all in order to evade capture.

Hunted came to an end on Channel 4 tonight after six weeks of genuinely tense, fingers-over-the-eyes episodes.
We've had it all, from the hapless women caught while just wandering around looking for lunch, to the cat and mouse games of utter legend Dr Ricky Allen and the paranoia of Emily Dredge (bolting to leave her pal Lauren English; jumping off a toy train in a seaside town when she thought the hunters were nearby).
The series has tested relationships, examined the difficulties of surviving on your own and, most importantly, had us utterly gripped throughout ("For Goodness' Sake, Get Off The Bus!" a now common refrain in our house). It's fair to say that we're hoping for a second series.
But are you? Could the second series' characters be anywhere near as good as the likes of Ricky Allen? Would the next batch be too knowing and aware of the hunters' tricks?...
