Being a superstar doesn’t always mean having chart hits.
From massive rock groups and boy bands to iconic vocalists and singer-songwriters, there are countless acts that have managed to inspire generations of entertainers and win over millions of fans without having ever actually notched a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Over the years, there have been some especially surprising icons who would seem to have a few No. 1s under their belt, but for whatever reason, their songs never managed to wind up sitting at the top spot of the chart.
Not having a No. 1 doesn’t take away from these talented artists’ repertoire, and it’s pretty interesting to see how charts don’t always mean everything when it comes to a musician’s success and impact on the culture.

Bob Odenkirk is going through a midlife crisis in the AMC series, “Lucky Hank”.
Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Straight Man, by Richard Russo, the “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” alum plays Hank Devereaux Jr., head of the English department at the underfunded Railton College, whose life begins to fall apart. Hank’s unhappiness is rooted in unresolved issues with his father, a mediocre and entitled student body and the fact that his department is more divided than ever. ‘The Killing”s Mireille Enos co-stars as Lily Devereaux, Hank’s wife and vice principal of a local high school, who starts to question the path she’s on and the choices she’s made amid his downward spiral.

The cause of death has now been revealed for Dax Tejera and, contrary to what ABC News president Kim Godwin said last month, the ABC News producer did not die from a heart attack on Dec. 23.
Et has confirmed that Dax choked to death because he was drunk while out at dinner with his wife and friends at Bobby Van’s Steakhouse. A spokesperson for the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner tells Et that Dax’s official cause of death was “asphyxia due to obstruction of airway by food bolus complicating acute alcohol intoxication.”
The New York Post was first to report the news.
Just last month, Godwin released a statement addressing Dax’s death, which read, “It’s with a heavy heart and great sadness that we share that our friend and colleague, Dax Tejera passed away suddenly of a heart attack last night. As executive...

In case you didn't know, there's a One Direction edition of the popular Heardle game, and it's the perfect way for Directioners to test their knowledge! If you haven't played Heardle yet, it's pretty simple: you're given the first few seconds of a song, and you have to try to guess the track in the shortest amount of time possible. You get one second to start and can continue adding seconds to the clip until you get it.
If you know the beginnings of songs, this should be easy! That's why we put together a cheat sheet of the opening lyrics to all of One Direction's songs. However, bear in mind that not every song's opening will have lyrics, so you really have to know those intro notes.
The list below contains all of the songs from One Direction's discography - from "Up All Night" to "Made in the A.

Bob Odenkirk has shared details about the heart attack he suffered on the set of “Better Call Saul” last summer for the first time in an interview with “The New York Times.”
The actor was hospitalized on July 27 after he collapsed on set. On Aug. 7, he assured fans on social media that he was feeling better after the “small heart attack,” which was able to be resolved without surgery.
“I’d known since 2018 that I had this plaque buildup in my heart,” Odenkirk explained to “The New York Times.”
He visited two doctors who had differing opinions on how to treat the condition. One suggested he start medication, while the other said he could wait, the actor said.
Odenkirk decided to listen to the second doctor and remained fine until that day one set when “one of those pieces of plaque broke up.”

Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk is back at the office, less than two months after suffering a heart attack on the set of the AMC series.
Odenkirk took to Twitter on Wednesday with a photo of him in the makeup chair on the show’s Albuquerque set, transforming back to Jimmy McGill, his character in the Breaking Bad spinoff.
“Back to work on Better Call Saul!” he wrote this morning. “So happy to be here and living this specific life surrounded by such good people. Btw this is makeup pro Cheri Montesanto making me not ugly for shooting!”
The 58-year-old actor and two-time Emmy winner collapsed on the set July 27 and was rushed to the hospital. It was later confirmed that he had a heart attack, with Odenkirk saying he had a blockage that was fixed without surgery.

While the Oscars and other awards bodies have all pushed events back on their calendar and expanded eligibility for what movies can be considered, the New York Film Critics Circle will only consider movies released in the 2020 calendar year for its annual awards.
The Nyfcc announced Friday it will vote for its 2020 awards on Dec. 18 and that only movies released in theaters or on digital platforms between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2020, will be considered.
Further, the date for the group’s annual Gala Awards dinner is still to be announced, and membership for 2020 members will be frozen this year, with all current members still eligible to vote, even as many critics’ jobs have been affected by Covid-19. No new members will be voted in this year.

Don’t stop him now. Queen’s Brian May has revealed a big scare from what he termed a “small heart atttack,” but is on the mend and “ready to rock.”
In an Instagram post, the co-founder of Queen and a collaborator on 2018’s smash Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, said the heart attack discovery was made after he was treated earlier this month for a tear to his gluteus maximus during a moment of “over-enthusiastic gardening.”
May on Instagram said he wanted to “tell the truth about what happened” after “people were making up stories out there.” Says May in the post (see it below), “I thought I was a healthy guy… I keep fit… anyway in the middle of the whole saga of the painful backside, I had a small heart attack.”
While he did have a rip in his gluteus maximus, a week later May said he was still in “real agony.

Young Thai director Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit’s latest film finds him back on his familiar ground of arty, quirky kids and young professionals seen in his “36” (2012) and “Mary Is Happy, Mary Is Happy” (2013), and this time the alchemy is almost perfect. “Heart Attack” has been a pleasant surprise for both public and critics, earning box office success and few awards.

Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit is a self-taught director, a film critic and screenwriter. He majored in Chinese at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. His work has earned critical acclaim for its unique and eccentric style. In 2012, his feature debut “36” won the New Currents award in Busan. Nawapol has continued to make feature and documentary films, as well as music videos. His latest films, “BNK48: Girls Don’t Cry” and “Die Tomorrow” also received many awards. His latest film, “Happy Old Year” screened in Thailand in December and has now started its festival run from Rotterdam.
We speak to him about his movies, the phenomenon of the BNK48, image, the girls as individuals, Thai movie industry and many other topics.
In Heart Attack, the protagonist is someone who feels that if he stops working even for a second, he will be left behind. Have you ever had this sense and how much do you identify with the protagonist?...

After a great feature debut with “Heart Attack”, Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit has turned towards the documentary with equal success, with the “unusual” “Die Tomorrow” winning the Grand Prix at Five Flavours Film Festival. “BNK48” is rather different in style, as it deals with the concept of idols and its export to Thailand from Japan, but again, an impressive effort.

Jesse Malin and his band D Generation were on the road opening for the Ramones in 1996 when the ageless New York City punk first heard Lucinda Williams’ voice. It was on the duet with Steve Earle “You’re Still Standin’ There” and her distinct nasally tone cut through like a serrated knife, all jagged and dangerous. Excited about his discovery, Malin couldn’t wait to tell his mentor, Joey Ramone.

New Asian Cinema is a survey of the most outstanding and widely debated new films from South and Southeast Asia, often directorial debuts. The filmmakers competing for the festival Grand Prix make bold comments about the surrounding reality and contemporary social issues.
They skillfully combine genre films with local narrations, at the same time forming their own, auteur styles and mapping out new cinematic directions. The titles selected for the New Asian Cinema section have unique form and content, expanding the boundaries of the cinematic language. They are deeply rooted in the local context, but they do not shy away from commenting on global social phenomena.
The winner is chosen by People’s Jury – a group cinema lovers and Asian cultures enthusiasts. The open call for the jury of the 12th edition of the Festival will last till October 12.

Thamrongrattanarit’s previous work, “Heart Attack” is one of my favorite films of the latest years, as the director managed to present the lives of the freelancers in the most analytical and realistic fashion, all the while retaining a comic feeling throughout the film. “Die Tomorrow” though, has little to do with that film, as it is a rather experimental production that focuses on death and the way people perceive and accept (?) it.
Die Tomorrow is screening at Art Film Fest Kosice
According to the statistics, two people on earth die each second and the director makes a point of highlighting the fact, both by presenting it with on-screen text and by repeatedly including a kind of clock that counts the number of deaths in “real” time. The movie then proceeds on recreating imaginary episodes of the lives of people who have died on occasions that have made the news,...
