Raa went to a lot of trouble to track down a very famous belt buckle made especially for John Wayne for this film. The original belt buckle was given John when he complete filming Red River by the director Howard Hawks. Howard too had one. They both had their initials engraved on the buckle. They decided to swop buckles out of respect so John had one with HWH on it. When Raa finally found a replica from a mail order company in the states, then they sent him two.
To remake this project as a modern remake, Raa had to change parts of the story. The original story had john Wayne travelling by horse following a map. For the modern version Raa decided to write in that they followed a map only to find another map and so on or due to using vehicles the story would not last long. This is explained in the story as a way the kidnappers could make sure he wasn't being followed by the law
Raa grew up watching the original version of this film (Big Jake). He knew the lines so well that he struggled to deal with altering it for the modern remake.
Raa Marchant met his Wife, Gemma Marchant whilst shooting this film
Like in the original film where John Wayne employed his own children to play his children in the movie, Raa chose to keep this in the film. His Son, Kaden Marchant plays his youngest Son Jake. In addition to this Raa has his youngest Son Lincoln playing a small role which appears at the beginning of the film
