Nice terror Anthology based on Edgar Allan Poe tales, subsequently copied by Roger Corman , being formed by three segments . Enrique Carreras adapted a portmanteau front , a vein of grisly horror with suspense, plot twists , and turns . The flick deals with three tales: the first concerning The case of Mr Valdemar : a hypnotist professor : Narciso Ibáñez Menta who sends an unfortunate soul to limbo. The second titled The Cask of Amontillado : : a vineyard owner : Narciso Menta who reacts to Carlos Estrada's adulterous liasion by exacting a relentless vengeance by stealing him his wife . The third titled The tell-tale Heart about an egoistic , cruel watchmaker : Narciso Ibáñez Menta , who when appearing his strange nephew : Narciso Ibáñez Serrador happens some surprises .
Thrilling and horrifying tales being well-paced and with a slight vein of grisly black comedy . Narciso Ibáñez Menta dominates the scenario, as he gives a real recital in the three episodes playing as a professor with psychological , hypnotic skills and as a revenger drunkyard executing vengeance by walling the couple up in his wine cellar , and finally as a ruthless watchmaker . Outstanding the last one in which Narciso Ibañez Menta as a bitter and and resentful watchmaker bearing a creepy make-up and being accompanied by his actual son Narciso Ibáñez Serrador giving equally a portentous interpretation . These episodes reappear more successfully in the Spanish "Historias para no Dormir" TV series written and directed by Narciso Ibáñez Serrador .
Starred by Narciso Ibáñez Menta and his son Narciso Ibañez Serrador , like father like son , they are the greatest experts on Terror genre in both countries , Argentine and Spain. Menta in Spain returned to Terror film playing La Saga de los Dracula by Leon Klimovski , The night of werewolf , and three fantasy/horror movies directed by Sebastián D'Arbo : Trip Beyond , The Entity and Beyond the death. While his son Narciso Ibáñez Serrador worked especially for TV getting his biggest hits with Un Dos Tres Responda Otra Vez , Mis Terrores favoritos , Waka Waka and TV films as La Cabina , La Zarpa , El Regreso , El Televisor , Pesadilla and of course Historias para no dormir with several episodes played by his father .
