The show is ok, some cutting edge comedy, some experimental stuff that sometimes doesn't land. It's good when the right guests are on, especially Sheer and Mantzoukis.
People who have seen this show since the New York Public Access Days already knew what I hope people are learning now. This show is more than a comedy, but a meeting place for a community of underdogs who spent a long time waiting for a show made for them.
The Premise of each episode is kept fairly simple and it is left to the Cast and the characters that are the fans of TCGS to bring it to life. Past episodes, like trying to figure out what is inside a dumpster, staying awake for 36 straight hours prior to production or simply asking "You OK?" have led to some hilarious moments in Television.
What wins out over any gimmick or celebrity guest, however, is the honesty of this show. Gethard (known for his HBO Special, Career Suicide) has made himself so accessible to fans and vulnerable to his audience. He openly discusses his fears and battle with depression, has had panic attacks on the show (more during the public access days) and has made everyone who has found this show feel like they have a place in the community he has created.
Add to him an improv genius in Shannon O'Neill, the hilarious madness of Matthew "Murf" Meyer, The beautiful oddity that is The Human Fish (David Bluvband) and the adorable spunk of Bethany Hall and you have a cast built to handle the craziest of situations in a way that will make you want to join them for the ride.
Don't just watch the TruTV episodes, but go back and check Youtube for the public access and Fusion episodes. One thing you may notice in a lot of the past episodes are people that you still see in the audience of the current episodes. That should tell you something right there.

This show makes me feel closer to my fellow human being. Chris is a compassionate and funny dude who works well bouncing thoughts and ideas off of other funny people. How many shows on TV are live and let anyone potentially call in and be on air? Instead of the normal disconnect of massive stars getting paid millions (who don't care about you), there is an air of understanding, togetherness, and empathy, all while exploring a zany theme that often incorporates the audience as an active part of the show. Give it a chance. Make some new friends. Feel less alone.
I think Chris is excellent and breaking out with creative ideas involving his audience. Getting to know a little bit about hundreds of people who are watching all around the country, while doing hilarious and spontaneous acts in-between.
This show can have moments where it misses sometimes, but it takes chances and is like nothing on TV. I love Chris and I hope he takes more chances like this show did.

I like to think I have an open mind for Comedy. I have to draw the line here, this show is to comedy as Nickleback is to good music. Tru TV need to put this show down like a rescue pet nobody wanted. Philadelphia was funnier than this show.

This is one of theeeee worst shows ever. It is a waste of a time slot on truTV. I gave it a chance. I watched a few epsiodes, and then started to immediately change the channel when it is on. I can not believe it was renewed for a second season. FFS truTV.... there are MUCH better RERUNS to air.
Some of the characters are maybe funny on their own, I do like Shannon. They luckily have a good guest on here and there, and that guest is usually the only redeeming quality or glimmer of hope for a watchable epslisode. Chris is horrible... not funny, and has an air of anxious awkwardness and desperation that makes him hard to watch.

This show is just Unbearably annoying along with the commercials. I don't understand how this even gets the viewership to stay on the air.

This show has no structure whatsoever. The host and co-hosts are not funny. The bands that they have are terrible. There's nothing interesting about this show. Do NOT waste your time watching it. I don't even see how it's being aired.

Horribly unfunny and cringeworthy. I have watched TV my whole life and I rank this as the #1 worst show I've ever seen.
