Well, you can’t say they didn’t give it the ol’ college try. For a while, they’ve been trying to revive the 24 franchise. A few years ago we saw Jack Bauer bow out in 24: Live Another Day, and this previous season, we saw 24: Legacy hit Fox with an all-new cast.
The new series started off strong enough, with a reported 17.58 million viewers in its premiere, but its ratings quickly tumbled, and by the final episode, it only had 3.41 million views. This is a definite fall, and while it may not be completely reflective of what audiences thought of the series, it didn’t really bode well for things to come.
Now, TVLine has confirmed that 24: Legacy will not be returning to Fox next season. However, if you were worried about 24 coming to an end, then fret not. Discussions are reportedly underway with producers Howard Gordon...

The bigwigs at Fox announced today that there are currently no plans to produce more of their revived shows, Prison Break and 24: Legacy. Prison Break has experienced mediocre ratings on live viewings but has done quite well with delayed viewings.
The CEO and co-chairman of Fox Gary Newman, said that the network, “loved this season” and that if the producers were inclined to have the escape artist brothers, Michael and Linc, break out of more prisons, it would be “seriously considered” by the network.
Prison Break aired on Fox from 2005-2009, and has always been fantastic at building tension, similar in many aspects to the Showtime series Homeland in its intensity. In the show’s final season, the lead Character Michael Scofield, who was dying of a brain tumor, was actually electrocuted. In an Obi-Wan-type moment, Michael sacrificed himself to save the mother of his child, Sara Tancredi, and their son.

“I didn’t know if I could play her,” says Yvonne Strahovski, who plays Serena Joy Waterford on Hulu’s near-future dystopian series, The Handmaid’s Tale, which tells the stories of women trying to survive within the totalitarian and Christian fundamentalist government of Gilead, which has taken over what remains of the United States. The first three episodes premiered on April 26.
Most famous for playing Sarah Walker on the action-comedy series Chuck for five seasons and later for recurring roles on Dexter and 24: Live Another Day, The Handmaid’s Tale is unlike any show Strahovski has been a part of. “It’s kind of incomparable,” she says of her past work, particularly Chuck, which first premiered 10 years ago. “It’s always a learning curve. I feel like a different person now embarking on this project, The Handmaid’s Tale.”

The cast of The Predator, Shane Black’s sequel-not-reboot to 2010’s Predators, is currently brimming with badasses like Boyd Holbrook of Narcos, Thomas Jane of The Punisher, and Room’s Jacob Tremblay. The young actor was looking adorable as ever in the recent cast photo, where everyone—including Olivia Munn and Keegan-Michael Key—stood in front of the camera in their L.L. Bean best. Tremblay plays Holbrook‘s son, who’s unwittingly drawn into this battle of man versus extraterrestrial hunter of man. Those aren’t good odds for the young one, which is why he’s getting some backup from Yvonne Strahovski. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Chuck and 24: Live Another Day alum will play Tremblay’s mom, who we’ll probably learn has some impressive survival skills of her own. Filming is underway for The Predator, which debuts February 9, 2018.
