The idea behind most of the film being seen on a radar, with incoming monsters represented by blips on the screen, was inspired by Hewer's love for the films Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), and the similar scenes that they have.

Crazy credits
There is a post-credits scene which depicts a red dot, coupled with a chilling howl, pop up in the exact spot where the character of Hotel was killed, signifying that he has re-animated into one of the monsters.
