It could seems be pathetic. Or full of cliches. Or blank . In fact, it represents a honest portrait of a legendary personality of French Resistence . Julien Baumgarter works for a decent character traits. And he does a real good job. The atmosphere is inspired created and the film has the virtue to be an useful introduction to the life and work of Pierre Bossolette. A film who could be defined as superficial but its purpose is not to be more than a reasonable sketch. And it is a good one. For me, the only problem is Churchill of Joe Sheridan. A not significant presence, off course, but the British actor has the unluck to be more Alfred Hitchcock than the Prime Minister. Sure, a film who has the same recipe like many others about the French heroes of WWII. But , only the French sensitivity could understand the importance of nuances and the status of films for popular culture. So, a decent sketch.
