Hetty Feather is a great drama for kids, and has some very serious topics which they tackle extremely well! Isobel Clifton is a great actress and portrays Hetty brilliantly! Eva Poe as Matron Bottomly is outstanding, her character is the exact opposite of Rachel Mason in Waterloo Road. Some of the acting from the kids can be very wooden at times (mainly Sheila, Gideon and Judd) but it's watchable.

This will always be one of my favourite TV shows. I rewatched it a couple of years ago and have hyperfixated on it since, haha. Such good characters, story, costumes, sets... I adore everything about it!
It's definitely shaped my love for history, especially the late 19th to early 20th centuries. Even though it wanders away from the plot of the books quite a lot, I think that the Calendar Hall series are just as engaging. It introduces us to characters who we wouldn't know otherwise - Emily, Rosamund, Agnes, Jack - who are lovable additions to the cast.
A great series for kids, and for the young at heart who want a fun period watch. I hope we get a reunion episode one day!

I like the story of Hetty and her ability to make the best of a difficult life. The acting of all the young people is very good, too. I look forward to future episodes.

Appears to be a wholesome show but a regular theme throughout is that lying is okay when you are surrounded by evil. The villains in the show are impossibly evil but I suppose that is a regular mechanic in juvenile shows.
