At time of writing Croatoan Origins has a 9.0 rating! If it had a handful of votes I'd get it but it's well over 1k! To put things into perspective only a small percentage of even the IMDB top 250 has 9.0 or over so that's incredibly high.
Based loosely, very loosely on the Croatoan/Roanoke tale we see a homeless man find himself in the middle of a slaughter when a possessed teacher goes on a killing spree.
It looks cheap and nasty, it sounds cheap and nasty, and the writing is....wait for it......cheap and nasty.
I'm open minded, I respect the opinions of others and that frequently my tastes do not align with the majority but a 9.0 is certainly a result of overwhelming levels of shilling as this short film is atrocious.
Little happens, no developments, it has no structure, it certainly has no finale or resolution. It's just pitiful! With so many fantastic horror shorts out there why would anyone bother watching this or for that matter why would anyone have made it?
