This episode is slightly better than the previous, but unfortunately not much. The fight scene is too long and while I could watch it the first time I had to fast forward through it once I got bored on the 2nd watching. That still makes is an acceptable episode using my standard rating system, which is "A" can watch many time and will enjoy, "B" can watch once and enjoy but do not enjoy a subsequence viewing. I am a bit puzzled why this is so because in season one there are several fight scenes and I enjoyed them all, I suspect in season one they are shorter and there is good dialog occurring which keeps you engaged. Even in season 2 the shorter fight scenes are enjoyable, so I suspect its another case of stretching the material out to fill an episode.
The 2nd half is accepted, but I found it a bit cringe worthy when Shiroe and Kanami spoke with each other, especially the bit about kanami wanting her daughter to come to this world. I also found it odd, here was a woman with a 2 year old child who had been stuck in this world for more than a year and did not seem homesick. I would expect that she should be concerned for her child. I think it would have been better off if she did not have a child, thus would not need to feel homesick, and instead wanted to show her friends back home this new world.
They are setting us up for a season 3, but if it was anything like the end of season 1 I would not take it as gospel. I know the Crusty's return will have at least one major arc based on the light novels, thus I suspect Kanami will get back to japan with her interesting companions. As for Shiroe's doppelganger on the moon, this was also odd as how did she get back to the moon and what was she up to on earth. I hope they do something with her because in season two her only purpose was to get shiroe to the radio tower, which was totally unnecessary as he had to go there anyway to defeat the moths. In summary you could remove Roe 2 and it would not affect the story, which is not good story writing.
I am looking forward to season 3, I do love this tv-show, but season 2 was significantly lower in quality to season 1, so I hope they reverse that trajectory.
