The Tracy Morgan-led spinoff of The Neighborhood at Paramount+ continues to add to its cast.

Adrian Martinez, Braxton Paul and Finn Maloney have joined Crutch, which stars Morgan as Francois Crutchfield, aka Crutch, a Harlem shop owner — and cousin of The Neighborhood’s Calvin Butler (Cedric the Entertainer) whose life is upended when his adult children move back in with him. As viewers know, it all started months ago when Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) took over the Pikeman Group. Valentin knew that Pikeman had failed to assassinate Sonny several times prior to his taking over, so he decided to take a different route to get rid of Sonny.

And Craig recently posted a photo on Instagram from the General Hospital set. So, this sparks, speculation and excitement among fans. And the photo was taken during the 2023/2024 season, as indicated by key art visible in the background.

Update: A month after the Paul Giamatti / Hostel TV series rumor popped up, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that it’s actually happening! Giamatti is set to play “a key role” in the Hostel TV show, which is said to reinvent the franchise as an “elevated thriller.” The series is coming our way from Fifth Season, the studio behind Apple’s Severance, and has Eli Roth, Chris Briggs, and Mike Fleiss on board as executive producers. Roth and Briggs are also writing the project, which Roth will be directing.

In 2013, Giamatti revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he almost made a cameo in the original Hostel: “Eli was shooting Hostel in Prague and I was shooting The Illusionist and I met him. We talked about me actually killing somebody in that movie but it never panned out.” Now it looks like Giamatti and Roth are going to make up for lost time.

One weird thing that happens with long-running franchises is that they eventually reach a point where the creatives leading the new movies grew up as fans of the old ones. Sometimes this is a bad thing — it arguably leads to an increase in lazy fan-service at the expense of any bold, innovative creative decisions — but other times it just makes the whole thing feel even more exciting. To know that the new people in charge truly care about the lore can go a long way in keeping viewers on board.

The world of CBS’ The Neighborhood is expanding.

The network’s streaming sibling, Paramount+, has ordered a comedy series titled Crutch that stars Tracy Morgan and is set in the same world as The Neighborhood — albeit on the other side of the country. The show comes from CBS Studios, and The Neighborhood star and executive producer Cedric The Entertainer is among its EPs.

Morgan will play Francois Crutchfield, aka Crutch, a cousin of Cedric’s Calvin Butler and a Harlem widower whose adult son and daughter move back in with him. Morgan previously guest starred in a 2022 episode of The Neighborhood as a different relative of Calvin’s — his younger brother Curtis.

Updated with James Gunn comment: Egyptian-born comedian Bassem Youssef claims he lost a role in James Gunn’s Superman Legacy movie due to his public support of Palestine during a Piers Morgan: Uncensored October interview, however, a source close to production tells Deadline, that’s not the case: Youssef was never formerly offered the role.

We hear that Youssef taped an audition pre-actors strike for the role of Rumaan Harjadi. However, by the time Gunn turned in his final shooting strike post writers’ strike ending in late September, that role was cut. This was all before the tragic events of Oct. 7, 2023. Hence per the Superman Legacy production source — no official ask was made to Youssef. Given that the actors strike was still ongoing in late September, and didn’t end until early November, no communication about Youssef obtaining or not obtaining the role would have been communicated to him.

Paul Giamatti is one of the most highly respected actors working in the industry today, and he’s also quite prolific, with over 115 screen credits to his name. Last night, he won a Golden Globe for his performance in the excellent comedy / drama film The Holdovers – and during a red carpet interview at the event, he revealed there’s one area where he feels his career is lacking: he hasn’t worked on enough horror projects.

The spicy comedy tells the story of Maddie, a woman on the brink of losing her home who finds a curious job listing: parents looking for someone to bring their introverted 19-year-old son out of his shell before college. “Invincible” Announces Season 2 Date With First-Look Teaser

While San Diego Comic-Con guests got an early sneak peek at the highly anticipated second season of Prime Video’s adult animated superhero series “Invincible,” home audiences thankfully quickly got in on some of the action, as well.

The second season of original series “Almost Paradise” is set to premiere on Freevee on July 21. When hypertension forces DEA agent Alex Walker (played by Christian Kane) into early retirement, he moves to the Philippines in hopes of a quieter life. But unfortunately for him, he can’t avoid danger. Soon, the local police ask him to help solve a series of serious crimes.

Also coming to Amazon’s free streaming service in July is the incredibly meta action series “Ze Network.” In the show, David Hasselhoff plays himself as he takes a gig at an English-language theater in Germany — and we all know that Germans love David Hasselhoff. However, once there, he is recruited into an elite society of super-spies, who must work together to prevent a dangerous plot from striking the nation.

Last month, AMC announced that the eighth season of Fear the Walking Dead, which is set to begin airing on May 14th, will be the final season. Now cinematographer David Morrison has taken to Instagram to mark the fact that filming is underway on the series finale. Morrison said, “Been looking forward to this for a while. Years in the making. Let’s do this!” The series finale is being directed by Michael E. Satrazemis, a franchise regular who has directed seventeen episodes of The Walking Dead, twenty episodes of Fear the Walking Dead, and three episodes of Tales of the Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead wrapped up its eleven season run on AMC last year, so it seems fitting that Fear the Walking Dead, its first companion series, is following its example and wrapping up as well. Especially since there are a bunch of new spin-offs to look forward...

Production is back underway on David Gordon Green’s The Exorcist, and Deadline reports this morning that Olivia Marcum is the latest actor to join the cast.

Marcum is a newcomer who has recently appeared in the stage production Matilda The Musical, starring as Matilda. Who she’ll play in The Exorcist reboot is currently under wraps.

Gordon Green is directing the brand new sequel to The Exorcist for Universal, Blumhouse, and Morgan Creek that will pave the way for a planned trilogy. The first film in the trilogy will be released theatrically on October 13, 2023, with Leslie Odom Jr. and Lidya Jewett(Netflix’s Nightbooks) starring alongside Ellen Burstyn, who will be reprising her role as Chris MacNeil from the original 1973 movie. Production is currently underway.

Ann Dowd (Hereditary) is also on board to star in this year’s sequel.

In the latest TV show ratings, CBS’ The Neighborhood tied NBC’s The Voice for the nightly demo win, while CBS’ NCIS copped Monday’s largest audience.

CBS | The Neighborhood veritably matched its largest audience of the season (5.7 million viewers) and it also ticked up in the demo (with a 0.6, per Nielsen finals), as did NCIS: Hawaii (4.8 mil/0.4). Bobishola (5.1 mil/0.4) and NCIS (6.8 mil/0.4) both added viewers and were steady in the demo.

Oscar winner Keith Carradine (The Power of the Dog), Emmy nominee Jason Ritter (Raising Dion), Betsy Brandt (Breaking Bad) and Wrenn Schmidt (Nope) have joined the cast of Fox’s upcoming anthology series Accused, based on the International Emmy-winning British series. The project comes from 24 executive producers Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa and House creator/executive producer David Shore.

Developed by Gordon and co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television, Accused is based on the BBC’s BAFTA-winning crime anthology. It opens in a courtroom on the accused, with viewers knowing nothing about their crime or how they ended up on trial. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, Accused depicts how an ordinary person gets caught up in an extraordinary situation, ultimately revealing how one wrong turn leads to another, until it’s too late to turn back.

The series premieres Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 9 p.

Kevin Bacon has finally entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though it is in an incredibly surprising way. He will be playing himself in the forthcoming "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" set to premiere on Disney+ on November 25, 2022. Thanks to mergers and multiverses, Bacon technically already is in the MCU, as he played Sebastian Shaw in "X-Men: First Class," but this is his official introduction to the current slate.

Surprisingly, this holiday special will be the first time he has worked with every actor that makes up the Guardians team. That means playing Six Degrees with this cast is pretty fun.

The film will be directed by Nikyatu Jusu and written by Latoya Morgan. They are keeping the logline under wraps, but clearly hungry corpses will be on the menu.

Showrunner Peter Morgan's stellar attention to detail guarantees that the most historic, noteworthy events experienced by the British monarchy make the cut — but sometimes, he wants a scene to illustrate the commitment and love shared between Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

With episodes entirely focusing on constitutional meetings, the queen's relationship with her family and her prime ministers, the somewhat-controversial experiences of the royal family, and other things, the show has little room for any potentially suggestive moments. So during the show's third season, when Peter Morgan wanted to construct a playful scene between the reigning monarch and her royal consort, the showrunner knew he had earned it.

In an interview with The New York Times, Peter Morgan detailed his work on "The Crown," the ambitious television undertaking that tells the story of Elizabeth II's reign.
