The film is completed and unreleased.
Producer C.L.Bansal bought the incomplete shelved movie,"Shola Aur Chingari"(1990) .He then decided to complete it. He removed all of Sumeet Saigal's scenes and retained the rest of the cast (Jainendra, Swapna, Amjad Khan, Kiran Kumar,Pran etc.).Then he added extra scenes with new character's like Phoolan Devi , Alok Nath etc. Next he changed the title of the film to Chingaari Aur Sholay. This was done to make the film look like a new film.
The film was titled "Tu Bhi Daku Main Bhi Daku" when it was launched in 1988. Anita Raj was signed but later replaced by Swapna.
