Accidentally started watching on YouTube. I'm a believer, but find most Christian movies are not very well done. Being a long time foreign film watcher and having seen so many well acted movies I am spoiled. But now I am trying to get away from the darkness and R ratings. The acting in this is often wooden, and the script is not that great. But the little boy, even though he is not a great actor, brings a sweetness to the film. And Wilfred Brimley as the laid back down to earth pastor is endearing, as is the bookstore owner. It is simplistic and non-believers will probably laugh but I liked it.

Poor acting, writing and producing aside, this film doesn't need top rated actors and crew to have the anointing of the Holy Spirit. I feel sad for the naysayers that can't get past the superficial, preventing them from experiencing the presence of God, the truth in His word and the miraculous healing power of Jesus. Oh, ye of little faith.

I Believe Movie Review
"I Believe" is a Christin film from 2017 and it centers around a nine year old named Brian who claims to supernatural encounter with God and he resolves to learn more about Christianity despite the wishes of his father who is and Atheist newscaster. When my mom and I first watched this movie my mother described the ending as well as the film overall as hokey or as more artificial and hard to believe. I had to agree with this description since God was presented in a way that once Brian prayed to God, God would immediately answer the prayer and perform a miracle or place a sign. Which as we know is not a very typical occurrence in normal life.
However, the film definitely has merit in it's inspiring portrayal of Brian being a believer who never backs down from his beliefs. I also think that the film is also balanced by showing Brian and his father being at odds to represent how some families are divided by religion. The film has attitude awareness by seeming to cater to simpler demographic of young children or unbelting people. The film also shows the dignity of the human person by treating the characters in the movie that believe in God well by healing them and showing them respecting others. The film is truth filled by portraying accurate statues of Jesus and a few churches. One of the main things in the film that I thought were skillfully developed was the lighting effects which would change to represent God performing miracles. The plot point that Brian's dad was an atheist is more relevant to my experiences because I went to public high school and there were students who were atheist.

I loved this movie and shed buckets of tears while watching it but I am dying of cancer so that may have been a factor.
I also loved Wilford Brimley's pastor in it, always a favourite character actor and glad to see his image redeemed after his creepy role in The Firm.
Reviews on this movie will be mixed I'm sure - or maybe just a lot of 1s and a lot of 10s. I noticed a few flaws but I didn't let it spoil the experience for me. Can't wait to watch it again before my rental time runs out - wish I'd bought it instead.
Still might . . .

This movie was poorly acted, unrealistic in all things I'm not talking about the miracles. A few examples: a little boy who roams the city alone, the things they study in school/homework, then throw in the poor acting with the first miracle I was like really???? I just wanted to watch a heartfelt movie that was appropriate for kids to watch, but this did not hold my interest, even my kids aged 10 and 13 didn't think much of it.

7.0 stars.
It's not the best movie about God, but it stirs some feelings anyway. The story is of a boy who is introduced to Jesus as he's reading some Bible verses on the side of a church and he instantly believes everything he reads. His dad and mom are basically atheists and all of the people in his life are too, so he's sort of alone in this new religion that he's found.
The part where he's alone in Los Angeles with no other Christians around is a bit far fetched. There are Christians everywhere in the real world. So the boy finds some consolation at a local church nearby, and then miracles happen around him. That's the story and it's really good at that point, but then it takes a strange turn.
Seems the main actor is the dad, even though the protagonist is the boy. It's hard to tell, however the dad character was not the most effective actor.
The last 30 minutes are dumb. The script puts a gangster spin on it and it appears the adversary a.k.a. The devil, is part of some gangster underworld, or maybe he's not him, but it seems like him. Or was he one of the upper guys who run the media corporations that own the TV station? I can't tell, but either way, this movie went beyond the boundaries of normal. Nevertheless, it had some really heartfelt miracle moments.

This movie teaches us to have the faith of a child with an adorable little boy as the lead. Brian shows us what it is to have faith and not let go of it. I agree the acting was not academy award winning, not even close, but I love what this film stands for. God used the child to perform miracles and bring people to Him. Mark 11:24 says that whatever you ask for in prayer believe it and it shall be yours. I loved this
heartwarming movie.

Let me tell you the performing is not the best part of this movie, but it has a strong story with profound questions which everybody should ask themselves.
The movie has a good pace, profound questions, good picture, and, once again, could have a better performing.
I can't believe people give a higher rate for completely poor scripts like Marvel and DC movies and try to spread their hate here. The comments here try to diminish what God can do.
I strongly recommend to watch this movie and truly answer the same questions presented in the movie.
Watch by yourself and then define if the movie is good or not.

I watched the Christian movie I believe, and I found it to be thoroughly enchanting.
The acting maybe isn't going to win any academy awards, but the story is really wonderful.
It reminds all of us that God loves each person very much and He is still performing miracles everyday.
All we have to do is say..... I believe.

It kind of givea false sence of God and his word. It does say corect biblical things. But can give off the wrong message.

I'll save you the agony of a watch, this film was just terrible. I was hoping it might have a few redeeming qualities, but it 100% fell short. The acting was awful, and the dialogue was painful to sit through. Just absolutely ridiculous. Can't recommend it, unless you just want a good laugh.

This was a great movie! I really enjoyed the plot. It had twist and turns and never boring. I would definitely reccomend to children and adults alike. This is great for a movie night for church as well. I especially liked the young main actor with his responses to the adults. Would watch again

Foremost is the truth that is not easily seen today. Pure faith - untainted by today's environment - combined with a cognizant young mind could connect with God. Due to corporate religion, many dismiss faith-based environments as controlling. Untouched by the world, when Brian pulls God and His love into his heart, miraculous things happen: taking from scripture - If you have the (pure) faith the size of a mustard seed you could move mountains....
Sadly today, one who has learned over time, many cannot absorb this kind of thinking that God is pure love...

A movie that simplifies what it means to have faith. True faith should change us, and change the world around us. And, it's for all of us.

I have watched this beautiful film twice. It is very powerful and uplifting. The young boy who plays the lead is wonderful. His character's innocence and pure faith in God is so lovely. In spite of an unbelieving father who tries to stop him from reading a bible, he does so anyway and learns what it truly is to be Christ like. He helps so many people in the process. I thoroughly recommend this film!

This film is stunning in it's simple application of childlike faith and what God can accomplish with a heart that is willing to just believe! The cast is excellent, the writing surpasses the sometimes stilted writing of a faith -based film. The story explores the longing that is in all of us- we WANT to believe and we just need help seeing that God is REALLY GOD- able and willing to do the impossible and the miraculous today! I highly recommend this film! It is exactly what our weary and discouraged hearts need: hope!!!

Don't listen to the hater reviews, didn't watch the movie, just hate all things God. This is a good movie with an adorable lead in the little boy with glasses. The story is good. The direction is solid. We loved it. Best thing, you can watch it with the whole family! MUST SEE TV!
