First half is good. Second half, not so much. The film creates a parallel universe only to break the rules it previously established. Is it truly a parallel universe...or is it a game show? I'm not sure even the writers know. The end result is a plot that makes little sense, dragging down the rating from an 8 to a 6. I did like the characters, however.

Slick, fun and efficient, 'Seven Minutes' is a highly produced and polished teen sci-fi fantasy. The film manages to engage the viewer and build pace quickly, and doesn't complicate the plot with the whys and wherefores of the lead protagonists' multiversal predicament. 'Heaven' manages to dip its toes into darker waters than the typical teen party genre flick, but ultimately pulls its punches to keep on the the conservative side of the PG13 fence. Whilst it definitely channels Back to the future's multi-timeline spirit, '7' is not quite of the same caliber. Solid Halloween fun for the family, with a few jolts and a possible sense of edginess for younger audience members, but don't make it the feature film of the night.

I was going to write a longer review but it's not necessary. All you need to know about this flick is that they don't do anything interesting with the dimensional travel concept. Nothing of any particular consequence happens when the kids travel to the other dimension, and it's full of awkward discrepancies and inconsistencies. Nearly all questions it raises are left unanswered. The few answers it gives are completely mundane and make you wonder why this movie was even made. Anything they introduce that seems suspicious and/or like will be integral to the plot later turns out to neither be explained nor necessary to the plot. The characters face only the most rudimentary of trials and there is no payoff whatsoever. I'd love to hear how exactly the writer sold this movie. "Ok so check it out- we've got these kids at a party and then they travel to another dimension. The dimension is basically the same but different...somehow. Anyway they basically just run around for a while and are confused and then eventually they come back and yeah. Well...that's pretty much it right there". Wow, doesn't that sound so great? Oh, and a solid 1/3 of this is basically an entirely different movie which covers the rest of the kids at the party. The majority of that part is the cops trying to get into the house and the kids saying no, then every so often they bring the parent of one of the kids to come yell at them- even though none of these characters was previously introduced nor are they mentioned again making it all feel very tedious and pointless. Avoid this. I love this type of movie where the characters and audience are challenged to question reality, but this one doesn't deliver in any way.

I'm not really sure what this movie is supposed to be about? I kept waiting for some cool plot twist to bring it all together and it never happened. The scenes didn't flow, creating a non cohesive storyline. These two kids go to some alternate reality, one person there knows what's going on, but the kids never ask him? Wouldn't that be your first question, what's going on? Overall, I thought the movie lacked character depth, lacked emotion, and lacked an actual plot. On the positive, the acting from the kids was okay, and the cinematography was good.

I actually like this movie. Of all the movies I've watched that make no sense at all, where things happen for no reason and nobody's behavior is ever explained, it's probably my favorite. That's really saying something. It sorta seems like, they got 99% of the way to making a really cool, fun teen sci-fi movie, but then, the editing guy was drunk and just ruined it at the very last minute. You can tell that if it had made sense, it would have been a really cool movie.
Plus, either way, it strikes a personal note with me, as when I was in high school, Gary Cole was my guidance counselor, and I never knew when I saw him whether he was going to try to help me or run me down with his car.

This movie didn't make any sense in anyway. I have never been so perplexed after watching a movie as I have with this movie in my life. Nothing is explained throughout the plot as to what is happening, the storyline has so many plot-holes and we get some half-ass explanation at the end which is supposed to make sense but doesn't one bit. Ending is super just there and that would normally be fine in a good movie that is well made but in a stupid one like this where nothing is explained it just adds gasoline to the fire of incomprehension. And it's a shame because the idea behind it could've been amazing if it was well executed, but it wasn't.

Strange story but entertaining enough. Fine to watch as long as you don't take it too serious.

It wasn't a horror movie. It started out good, but nose dived quickly. The acting was decent but the story line was flawed & childish & ultimately went no where. I understand what they meant to portray but it was boring & pointless. Maybe good for kids & teenagers, not for adults.

The fact that so many people are defecating all over this movie should give you pause. It's not all that bad. To be fair, it is actually pretty decent. All that is required to enjoy this movie is a little bit of love, a little bit of hate, and a little bit of jealousy.

I'm not sure why this movie has been put in the horror category. There is certainly nothing scary here. The only real horror is that it is advertised as horror. It was more like a Twilight zone movie, so it falls into the category of fantasy movies. It was an attempt to make use of ideas from Jumanji 2, except that this was lame and Jumanji 2 was fun and actually made you laugh your ass off. The only thing it had going for it was the cinematography, which was not bad for a low-budget movie. The acting was so-so, but the main problem with this movie is its nonsensical plot. You could argue that it was as nonsensical as Jumanji's plot, except that this was lame and boring. I guess mostly teenagers would enjoy this, because of the teen party and the first kiss and stuff like that, and that's probably the kind of audience the producers had in mind. I can't see how anyone over 18 years of age could possibly find this remotely enjoyable.

As the movie Us (2019) came after this one, I'd have to say the inspiration may have been something like Coherence (2013), with a dash of Truth or Dare (2018). Unlike most people I didn't see Coherence as a revelation. I admire the originality of the idea, but from that idea the movie only goes so far as to create acting opportunities for the cast, much like an episode of Thank God You're Here (2006). Similarly, Seven In Heaven is an opportunity gone begging. It hasn't the abrupt violence, distortion and frantic tension of Us, or the dystopian dimension. The tension in Seven is blasé, and even a little illogical. The cover of the dvd puts one in mind of Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, but Seven lacks any special effects at all. Nor did Seven have the visceral horror dimension of Truth or Dare. These points are all opportunities that have gone begging. The writers and filmmakers needed something much more ambitious, hard edged and visual to really make this source material sing. It needed more time in the think tank. I thought the ending was a little cruel. That was what decided me to give this only a 6. I was certainly entertained, the premise and the actors did display skill, but I think that most people over the age 16 may think this movie a little tame by today's standards.

Acting was ok. Gave it a 2 for that. Everything else is awful. Bad script. No character development. Almost complete nonsensical plot. No pay offs. No narrative. No ending. Just trash. Don't waste your time. Watch jeapordy or something...maybe you'll learn something.

It was okay. Its more of a sci-fi twilight zone type of movie. I would definitely not consider it a horror movie though. It was definitely not a movie you would get spooked in. A bit hard to understand.

I got confused with some of the scenes but realized that it was a good plot; worth watching with friends over
This movie was crazy! Definitely not like any movie i've seen before, and i've seen em all! It was spooky, it was weird, and it left me with tons of questions (which can either be a good thing or a bad thing). I think the idea of it was bizarre and cool and creepy all at the same time! Very strange, really awesome! Great for Halloween!

I liked the film because it was an original idea. I disliked the film because it wasn't very consistent, and parts of it, didn't make much sense, including the ending, which I had to look up on the net, in order to understand what exactly happened.
I recommend the film, because despite the faults, it was very entertaining, and could've been done better.

The movie starts out with a 25 year old 16 year old teenager babbling nonsense with his 30 year old mom who looked the same age as him. Lots of typical teen stereotypes with not much else. I made 30 minutes and it wasn't easy.
This isn't a horror movie. To be fair, I don't generally like the horror genre, but I had a feeling that this would be more suspenseful than scary, so I decided to give it a try. It wasn't even suspenseful. It was boring. I stopped watching quite a few times, but eventually decided to see it through because I thought the end would at least give a clue as to what they director was trying to do with the film. Nope. Literally no point in watching to the end.
I think it could have been a great movie. It seems like someone had a great idea, pitched it, and then didn't know how to follow through once they got the green light on the project. Characters aren't fully developed. Plot is all over the place and inconsistent. No moral to learn. Unrealistic plot elements like a mob chasing a car and keeping up with the car. If it were truly a horror film, adding enough scare moments to please the fans of the horror genre would have made up for the anemic plot. It didn't even manage to do that much.
I guess if your kid (younger than teens -- teens will find this lame) wants to watch a "scary" movie and you are okay with them being exposed to underage drinking and implied sexual activity, you could let them watch this and spare yourself being on nightmare duty for the next week or so. Otherwise, I'd pass on this one.
