Kate enters Taran's home through the unlocked front door, but when Taran returns several minutes later she is heard unlocking the door.

As she gets out of bed to talk to Sam, a braless Taran pulls on a sweater. In subsequent scenes in the bedroom a white bra appears and disappears under the sweater, then she is seen wearing the white bra under the same sweater when she leaves a few minutes later.

Near the end, Sam opens the trunk of his older model Toyota from the rear without a key and discovers the body. Toyotas of the vintage shown do not have that feature, so either a key or the inside release handle must be used.

After Sam is shot, the bloodstain on the ground is improperly placed- the pool is behind his body but away from his body, and was present as he fell. Since he was standing when shot, the blood would not have pooled until his body was on the ground, and it would have pooled under his body not away from it.

After holding the cocked gun to her head, as Taran takes it away it is heard being uncocked, yet when it is shown again the hammer is still cocked.

Kate finds a quit claim deed listing Taran Hathaway as the CEO of Sam Luck Property Management. This was impossible due to a couple of factors. A high school student could not legally enter a contract, and it takes weeks to set up corporations.

When someone commits suicide with a gun, the police do not give it back to a family member. As such, Taran would not have the same gun as her mother used.

Sam is shown being late for his class twice due to him arriving at school late from home. He told his wife it was his 4th hour class, so he could not have been late as was shown, the class was well into the day when he was already at school.

Taran''s dad is uber-wealthy, yet he buys a home in a lower middle class neighborhood so his daughter can attend a public school instead of a private one.

Kate's body was in his trunk for hours while his car was parked in his driveway, but there was no blood on the driveway. After it was stopped for just a few minutes on the bridge, there was a large pool of blood from the trunk. Sam would have noticed such a large pool on his driveway since he would have had to walk through it to get into the car.
