Dean Martin Celebrity Roast: Angie Dickinson (1977)
Angie Dickinson gets her chance in the hot seat as the likes of Joey Bishop, Eve Arden, Foster Brooks, Red Buttons, Ruth Buzzi, Scatman Crothers, LaWanda Page, Rex Reed, Jimmie Walker, Cindy Williams and the one and only Orson Welles pass the insults. Fans of the show will certainly enjoy this one as there's some very funny insults being thrown around as well as some great back and forth between some of the stars. Page and Crothers do an act together and really hit a home run with it in regards to the laughs. Welles delivers another very funny performance here as his type of "intelligent" comedy just worked magic for this set up. The highlight comes at the end when Dickinson asks Martin to help her deliver the insults and it's pure comic gold. There's even a joke about Jerry Lewis that is just priceless. This is certainly one of the better episodes for the series and is highly recommended.
