The filmmakers traveled to the National Archives and unearthed footage and photos of the actual air men for the film.
Re-enactment footage was filmed on board the USS Hornet (CV-12), the carrier they were attached to during WWII.
The exhibit honoring Carrier Air Group Eleven (CVG-11) is on board the USS Hornet Museum in Alameda, CA. The grand opening and the premiere of the documentary was on Veterans Day of November 11, 2014.
