Ashleigh Murray is set to star as Zenzi Fullington in “Tom Swift,” the CW’s upcoming spinoff of “Nancy Drew.”

She stars opposite Tian Richards, who plays the titular character as previously announced. Zenzi is described as “efficient and effervescent, but nobody’s fool. She’s been Tom’s best friend since childhood and considers him family – and she’s one of the few people who can keep up with Tom and read him for filth when necessary.”

Murray is best known for her role as Josie McCoy, lead singer of Josie and the Pussycats, in the CW drama “Riverdale” and its spinoff series “Katy Keene.” She also played Deidra in Netflix’s “Deidra & Laney Rob a Train” and Loryn in the 2020 film “Valley Girl.” Up next, she will appear in Barry Jay’s film “The Way Out,” set to debut later this year. Tom Swift, which has a series order, comes from Nancy Drew co-creators/executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, their Fake Empire banner and CBS Studios.

Co-created by Melinda Hsu Taylor, Noga Landau and Cameron Johnson, Tom Swift follows the serialized adventures of its titular gay, billionaire inventor (Richards) who is thrust into a world of sci-fi conspiracy and unexplained phenomena after the shocking disappearance of his father. “The Descendants” star Sofia Carson is taking the lead role in Netflix’s dance movie “Feel the Beat.”

Carson will portray a dancer who, after failing to find success on Broadway, returns to her small hometown and is reluctantly recruited to train a misfit group of young dancers for a big competition. Principal photography began July 25 in Toronto, Canada with Elissa Down (“The Honor List”) directing from a script by “Beautiful Boy” writers Michael Armbruster & Shawn Ku.

Susan Cartsonis, whose credits include “Deidra and Laney Rob a Train” and “The Duff,” is producing for Resonate Entertainment. Clément Bauer is associate producing for Resonate Entertainment. Executive producers are Brent Emery and Suzanne Farwell for Resonate Entertainment and Aaron Barnett.

Here’s a first look at Hailee Steinfeld in Bumblebee, from Paramount Pictures.

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow Vw bug.

Bumblebee is produced by “Transformers” franchise veterans Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Michael Bay, along withexecutive producers Steven Spielberg, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian.
