I went in highly skeptical, a horror anthology movie that's only 20 minutes! How could it possibly work, I thought.
Well I can confidently say it does, three stories and somehow someway they're all actually quite good.
A haunted covered bridge, paranormal investigators seeking to make contact in a graveyard and a television show called "Haunted Vermont" that gets more than it expected at an old spook house.
The first story especially was outstandingly made and really did set the bar, though the other two stories fail to reach those dizzying heights again they do entertain regardless.
These guys have taken the tired found footage formula and freshened it up and this makes for some damn fine watching. I now want to see what they can do on a feature level and have just learnt they've recently made one! So on that note I'm going to go seek that one out, if you're a fan of the sub-genre or just horror shorts this might be a good one for you.
The Good:
Very well made
Everyone does a decent job
Somehow manages to avoid many of the found footage tropes
The Bad:
Starts on a high that it fails to meet again
Things I Learnt From This Movie:
Even without changing the formula much the found footage genre can still manage to entertain
