Bluey fans around the world are on pins and needles for the new full-length feature film adaptation in 2027, but things are about to change. Although Bluey creator Joe Brumm is devoting all of his time and energy to make the movie great, one development has some fans biting their nails.

Along with the official announcement, it was revealed that Bluey would be getting a CG makeover for the occasion. That's not an uncommon practice for TV show characters making the transition to film, but fans might not need to be so uptight because a redesign has happened before.

BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company today announced the first-ever Bluey movie, which will be based on the Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning animated series.

The new deal sees Disney acquiring the global theatrical rights for the film, which will land in theaters in 2027 under the Disney banner. Following the global theatrical release, the Bluey movie will stream on Disney+.

At a recent screening of his new animated documentary Piece by Piece, the 13x Grammy winner expressed his gratitude to Lego‘s head of global entertainment Jill Wilfert for saying “yes” and collaborating on the film.

A financial scam has officially taken over the Lego store after a cryptocurrency company hacked the store's website. According to a report by Engadget, hackers took over the store website and began promoting a cryptocurrency coin. Before Colin Farrell took on the role of Gotham’s birdman in The Batman (2022) and The Penguin, several other actors had taken up the mantle of one of the most famous of the caped crusaders’ nemeses.

Burgess Meredith, Danny DeVito and Robin Lord Taylor all played live action versions of Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, as The Penguin is also known, and many animated iterations of him exist as well. Several voice actors like Tom Kenny, Dana Snyder, William Salyers and more brought the various cartoon Penguins to life in many series from Warner Bros. Animation as well as others. There was not a Penguin in the latest The Lego Batman Movie (2017), but one can be seen in the 2013 Lego film.

A new concept trailer that crosses over the DC Universe with the Marvel Universe has appeared online, showing some major heroes of both franchises in Lego form. Neither Marvel nor DC are strangers to Lego crossovers; many members of the Justice League appeared in The Lego Movie, and both they and the Avengers have received a slew of video games and movies, including one that features a Wolverine and Avengers crossover. Horror Afraid leads the new titles at the UK and Ireland box office this weekend, launching in 450 locations for Sony.

Directed by Chris Weitz, Afraid stars John Cho and Katherine Waterston as devoted parents who get selected to try a new smart home AI device. The device quickly becomes overprotective of the family and begins interfering in their lives.

It is the latest feature from horror juggernaut Blumhouse, this year’s titles of which include Imaginary (£2m) and Night Swim (£1.4m). The film will have stiff competition from Disney’s fellow horror Alien: Romulus which was up to £8.8m at the end of last weekend.

Disney’s “Alien: Romulus” maintained its grip on the U.K. and Ireland box office, earning a shade over £2 million ($2.6 million) in its second week of release for a cumulative total of £8.2 million ($10.8 million), per numbers from Comscore.

The sci-fi horror entry scared off strong competition over the Bank Holiday long weekend in the territory from holdovers and new releases alike. Netflix has acquired the project, which is in early stages of development. Olivia Newman, the filmmaker of last summer’s sleeper hit “Where the Crawdads Sing,” is directing the movie. “Where the Crawdads Sing,” starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, was based on the best-selling novel by Delia Owens and grossed $144 million at the global box office. Newman is also co-writing the screenplay with John Whittington.

Netflix declined to comment.

Netflix has picked up a film package that adapts Remarkably Bright Creatures, the wildly popular novel by Shelby Van Pelt.

Sally Field, the veteran actress last seen in 80 for Brady, is in talks to star in the feature that is to be directed by Olivia Newman, perhaps best known for helming Where the Crawdads Sing. Newman is also writing the script with John Whittington.

Producing the adaptation will be David Levine via Anonymous Content along with Bryan Unkeless (I, Tonya) and Peter Craig, the established screenwriter of The Town and The Batman. Craig is also Field’s son.
