Along with "The Blue Elephant" movie, this movie changes the way we look at Egyptian filmmaking industry and sets a standard for anyone in Egypt thinking about making a movie.
Marwan Hamed drops on us, yet again, an amazing movie starting from screenplay, acting, cinematography and of course directing but the one thing that stands out for me is the storytelling which was in perfect order and timing although the runtime was a bit long, and also, WHAT A STORY from Ahmed Mourad !!
Amazing use of cinematography in intense and damatic scenes without overdoing and without the need of any nudity to express the feelings of the characters.
Mohamed Mamdouh is stunning yet again in all aspects along with Asser Yassin of course and Menna Shalabi and every actor in the movie in all fairness.
I hope we could see a lot more of this from Egyptian filmmakers .... WELL-DONE !!!

I went to the cinema place really having a high expectations specially because the novel was just amazing ! .. But I left the cinema place speechless , Ahmed Mourad decided to turn the novel into a masterpiece by modifying it to fit in 2 hours and half movie ! it was just amazing really ! .. I really recommend everyone to check this movie out even if you didn't read the novel. You will get bombed anyway!.
9 / 10 <3

Diamond Dust feels like a two hour episode of Breaking Bad which is a great thing. The plot is very good, it's not often that you see an Egyptian film that relies more on acting and the plot more than action packed scenes or offensive comedies. There is only one part in the story that just seemed forced to keep it going which was kind of disappointing.
Menna Shalabi's performance is just amazing. The music seems a little derived from Dunkirk's ticking clock but it still was good.
This film can change how modern people view Egyptian film making industry again.

As a movie based on a novel, the comparison between the novel and the movie imposes itself, and surprisingly both of them are great here.
The movie delivers the story in a very clear manner, everything is connected well and justified.
Usually the movie that starts with a murder catches your attention, but it can easily leave you disappointed if you stayed in the dilemma for a long time, but this didn't happen here.
The sequence of events is smooth and in a very good rhythm, the idea itself is genuine and the components of the movie add more strength to it.
The acting here is brilliant from all of the cast, great face and body actions and reactions, the costumes added a depth to the characters.
The directing and videography were beautiful, they added to the thrill of the story by using fitting angles of the cameras and dim color correction.
Finally, it's a great action and thrill Egyptian Arabic movie, it worths to watch although its long running time, but feeling bored is not possible here except for some scenes.

The movie was great in every scene , the performances of the actors were high, everyone knew what to do exactly and the best thing was the story, that's what we want from the writers to write good stories like dimond dust.

I've seen some of Ahmed Mourad's work and I've read the novels and my mind is blown by the way the great Marwan Hamed adapted this amazing novel into an absolute masterpiece that just sets a new meaning for Egyptian movies in my opinion.
the plot is amazing, the character development is just awesome and the characters themselves are well written and pretty thought-out, the acting is yet spot on and I can't say enough about the directing.
just a masterpiece.

The movie is not high rated like the indian movies cause of the fake ratings, its maybe also exceptional in the egyption movies every thing is well done in it the acting is great just the actors who can find a very simple mistakes the story is great the locations are great and the director did it well they made it perfect without showing any of sex and nudity some other directors would prefer to put alot of them in a movie like this and it really doesn't matter at all I have enjoyed every minute I thought it will be a long movie but after i get into it I recognized that i was wrong and its a pleasure to watch it till the end

This is a movie that plot is centered almost completely on the mystery novel by the same name "written by Ahmad Mourad" and the genius director Marwan Hamed. The acting was average with exception of Majid Al-Kidwani who was brilliant as usual. At some point I was bored by the slow pace of it but overall it's very watchable. It's a good movie but not a masterpiece..!!

Ahmed Murad wrote Diamond Dust which is a very thrilling novel and it does pay a great attention to details ,However this movie is a huge disappointment to the novel where a very long movie can't a grasp all the side stories in the novel . All of the main characters in the novel are portrayed poorly. The reveals and twists are ridiculous and the screenplay is trying to quote some of the novel's words just to get the idea across . This movie should be remade but in a tv series where each character must be properly portrayed not for the sake of paying tribute to the novel which is a good potential but to deliver better adaptation to the novel as well .

That movie became 100% one of my favourites, Ahmed Mourad is freaking genius! Although the movie is kindda inspired by Breaking Bad, but it's still different and a masterpiece. Honestly that movie should spread around the whole world

As someone who is not very familiar with Egyptian cinema, I went into the screening not knowing what to expect, but what a nice surprise! Great plot, great acting, good pace, and such a great way to question our perceptions of morality. I saw a comment saying the story in the 50s is oversimplified but to me that story was just an excuse; the real issue was where is the line that separates right from wrong? I doubt anyone watching it who wasn't familiar with the historical parts. like myself, can just do some research to understand it better. It's worth a watch and you barely notice it runs on the long side.
