Funny comedy short

Warning: Spoilers
As far as I can tell this was the comedy short that started the long and popular "Kaamelott" series. This little short pleased the audience and caught the eye of key promoters - and the rest, as they say, is history. "Kaamelott" is a play of words on both "Camelot" and "camelote" (cheap merchandise or shoddy workmanship), which should give you some idea as to the take on Arthur, king of the Britons. The series takes the mickey out of subjects such as heroic fantasy, royalty, Arthurian lore and medieval history. So does the short.

In "Dies irae" (Day of wrath) king Arthur discovers that his various knights haven't got a clue what he's been talking about, since they don't know Latin. Moreover, he discovers that they are less than interested in his grand project, namely the quest for the Holy Grail. In fact this cup stuff bores them. Much of the humor derives from the contrast between the supposed grandeur of the occasion - a solemn meeting of the Round Table - and the mediocre performance of the knights.

Quite funny.
