Now or Never (although it's supposed to be a spectacular historical epic with a big budget), fails to keep you engaged during its unduly long running time of over two hours.
It has its better moments, but these moments are overshadowed by serious dramaturgical errors, tragicomic events, tiresome formal solutions and largely boring characters based on archetypes. I feel sorry for the schoolchildren for whom this will be 'compulsory schooling'; it is certainly not for this reason that they will come to love Petofi, and it is certainly not for this reason that they will become interested in any historical events.
This money could have been put to a better use, and I'm very sorry to see that smaller but talented producers don't get a chance to prove themselves in Hungary, just because of politics - even though you can see, that there ARE talented guys (and girls) here working on epic movies like Dune or Poor Things.
