6/10

Neem me mee is a new drama comedy directed by Will Koopman, the director of Gooische Vrouwen and The Renovation.

Six people over 70, who do not know each other, go on a trip to the south of France together. Tour guide Thijs (Minne Koole) must keep the grumpy elderly on friendly terms during the trip.

After the journey, the elderly learn that they have a lot in common. They notice that they share a lot of similar passion and annoyances. In this way, they unexpectedly manage to make new friendships and go on this journey full of adventures together.

With this film they respond well to current events, where some elderly people can feel quite lonely and alone these days. Old friends have grown apart over the years, family members have less time for them, or their health is working against them.

Young people who do it for work or as volunteers try to make the lives of older people more pleasant. To do this, they must first get to know the elderly, in order to ultimately develop a good relationship.

The cast members also portray their characters in good, believable ways. For example, they initially appear more insecure or irritated, but later in the film their personalities change after they really get to know each other.
