Another dispiriting, negative DVD from Bree Mills' Pure Taboo series, wallowing in lame, stupid stories of young women being sexually mistreated. This sure isn't entertainment.
Title scene stars Athena Faris as a dimwitted girl on vacation in Europe, preyed upon by that old Snidely Whiplash villain of porn, Steve Holmes, Mills' go-to actor when she wants to depict a heinous male chauvinist baddie.
Crew member Mitt cheaply fills an "acting" role as her driver as Athena giddily enthuses about the fabulous landsapes while he drives her to a rental home, with the viewer having to take her word for what she's seeing -this was undoubedly shot in L. A. environs.
She can't speak German and is given a hard time by Mitt when she doesn't tip him, claiming she's fully paid through the fictional Lyft or Uber styled app. Holmes like Mitt does speak German, and pays off Mitt as a Good Samaritan, but then informs Athena that he was not notified she had rented his place -must have been some mistake, and in fact is not going away for the week she's supposed to move in airbnb style. But he offers her a bedroom to stay in given she has no money to find a substitute, out of the goodness of his heart.
Faris goes along with the offer, but is suspicious, and her (and any wide-awake viewer's) obvious dread is quickly realized when he offers to take her around and show her the sights, she decides to go it alone, and when she returns he acts like a madman towards her without justification - a completely nasty nut.
Holmes orders her out of the house and when she offers to "do anything" in order to stay, those fatal words in any porno film, he demands sex. This simple, obvious story falls apart as she immediately accedes to his demand, and gonzo sex (apparently all the fans care about) ensues with Athena greatly (orgasmically) enjoying it. Ending of this b.s. Scene is typically cynical.
The other scene, crudely and misleadingly titled "The Office Bimbo", stars Tiffany Watson as a temp sec easily cajoled by her boss, the untalented and unappealing Jason Moody, to have sex with him. Again, the actress turns on a dime into a deep-throating sex-worker, characterization be damned.
If "Taboo" were somehow translated as "in poor taste", then perhaps this Pure Sh*t series might represent truth in advertising.
