It is one of those rare movies where a predictable and otherwise ordinary plot is brought to life on the back of some mesmerizing acting by the lead trio and delightful music. The two Shettys have put the best performances of their careers. The director uses close-ups to capture emotions. Shilpa's flawless expressions are a treat to watch. The Nadeem-Shravan music is the heart of this film. Dhadkan, Janwar, Hera Pheri, and Ajnabee are chiefly responsible for reviving Akki's waning career and promoting him to a bankable superstar. The story builds well, with Shilpa driving the plot and Sunil garnering the sympathy of the audience. I felt the climax was timid and a bit disappointing, but it was the 1990s and the 2000s - the era of "lived happily ever after". Kiran Kumar and Mahima put up a commendable cameo.
