Aurélien Mathieu's short film, Un homme, un vrai (A real man), is truly the work of a master filmmaker and its message could not be more important in this time of destructive masculinity. In less than 4 minutes, Mathieu's directorial vision powerfully depicts the moment a young boy succumbs to his father's harshness and losses touch with reality. A beautiful, yet chilling film well deserving of the Powerful Voice Award nomination at the 2020 Blackbird Film Festival and a must see for all.
