I saw this as part of a People's Choice screening at a film festival where it had been nominated by cinema goers and it really shows the incredible wealth of talent coming out of Iran, considering the sanctions they are under and how difficult it is to get their work out there. A beautifully directed film with absolutely sumptuous set design, costume, sound, score .... everything really, it comes together to create a delightful film that is a testament to all those involved. At its centre are the incredible performances by a young cast who juggle humour, drama and pathos in equal measure. Tackling an emotive and delicate subject in an intelligent way, it's both magical and painfully truthful and caused much discussion after the screening.
