"I'm determined like Lord Ram, powerful as Lord Hanuman.....l'm Vajrakaya who has come to shake the mountain."
9/10
Vajrakaya is an entertaining film. It offers great action and some decent comedy scenes. The film plays with the idea of loving your mother like a goddess. The story is in the same vein of S/O Satyamurthy (2015), Mirchi (2013), Atharintiki Daaredi (2013). Anyone who liked these titles will love this one as well.
Viraj (Shiva Rajkumar) is living a good life with his well to do family. He is a devoted son to his parents and an ideal elder brother to his two siblings. By a random incident he gets to know that this is not his real family and his biological mother is still alive. Hero decides to meet his biological mother. He sets out on a journey to a place much like the mythological Lanka to free his mom from his grandfather who is like a Ravana in that village. Will this Bajrang bhakt be able to meet his mother?
The film utilizes Shiva Rajkumar's fame fully. There are many references to his previous film and stardom. Shiva Rajkumar shines in action and drama scenes. Most of the cast did wonderful job as well. The one playing the Huzoor was excellent. Nabha Natesh was great in her role.
The action was really well done. The fight before the interval was superb. Shiva showed great energy both in action and dance. I liked the songs. The first half was decent but the second half was the highlight of the film for me. I like this type of films that blend good story with lots of over the top action. Recommended if you S/O Satyamurthy (2015), Mirchi (2013), Atharintiki Daaredi (2013).
