I remember seeing this as a teen in the 90's(?). Having never seen anything older, I thought it was just OK. Watching it now, after exploring films throughout the years, I can see what they were aiming for. This is an homage to the early days of black and white horror - when most people back then we're scared of anything - The Invisible Man, The Phantom of the Opera, Doctor X, Dracula etc. lol. In this case, it reminded me of Vincent Prices classic House of Wax - the style of the opening credits and Whirling soundtrack. The film is fast paced and features a very young Francis Mcdormand and still up and coming Liam Neeson. The villain, played by Larry Drake, is a great surprise. Shout Factory, once again, did an amazing job or restoration. So Upon further review, I give this film a 6.5.
