In this well-staged three-real production we are introduced to Blackbeard, the celebrated pirate. La Fette, his companion in crime and their respective crews of buccaneers. Some interesting scenes aboard the pirate ship occur and the color throughout is good. The story swings around Blackbeard's and La Fette's impersonation of some guests of the governor of Trinidad, is clearly presented and holds the interest. - The Moving Picture World, December 27, 1913
