Typical Simon Wolf fantasy, merely OK
4 May 2017
Bud Lee teamed up with writer-producer Simon Wolf to create many fine Adult films early in this century, but both take a breather with this cutesy title. It is standard rom-com, plus the customary Wolf fantasy elements.

Largely no-name femme cast is headed by August, giving the talented beauty a rare opportunity to emerge from the ensemble. She's a witch, accompanied by BFF witch Tiffany Taylor to wreak a bit of mild havoc at a mansion where various co-ed roommates live. Most of the film concerns possession, as spells and potions cause August and other cast members to occupy each other's bodies in comical fashion, amplifying the sexual content as well. It's all in good clean fun, and Bud Lee pilots the shenanigans with ease.

But on the Fluff meter, this is extremely lightweight content, not likely to make anyone's Top Lists. August's feminine supporting cast is pretty and talented but other than blonde stalwart Sammie Rhodes they mainly look too much alike to be interesting or generate variety.

Wolf insists on injecting a wolf into the movie, as animal actors are his forte, perhaps the only producer in porn history to indulge this habit. Randy Spears, too dour for his comedic role (a frequent failing of his) pops up in the form of a wolf, changing into August's Uncle Clovis, and getting her out of a jam in deus ex machina fashion, a role given to writer George Kaplan in Wolf's popular "Magic Touch" series.

Wolf was a major independent producer a decade or so ago but seems to have been forgotten in the porn wars, while many lesser lights get the unearned glory (and phony industry awards). I enjoy rediscovering his best work, though like his peers he did release a ton of gonzo crap in addition to his more carefully crafted features.
