Sean Gilchrist directed this well-made adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe story. A couple detectives (Isaac Rhino, L. Reach Torres) are questioning a man (Brandon Alan McClenahan) who soon begins to hear a murder victim's heartbeat.

There's no question that this here is my favorite Poe story and I've always tried to see every version of it that I could. This one here clocks in at twenty-five minutes and tries to bring the story to a current time and it actually works extremely well. I really liked how the suspect is being questioned at a jail and then we see his story told in flashback. This here actually works quite well and it perfectly brings the classic tale to a current time. I also thought the performances by the entire cast were extremely good. Both Reach and Rhino sell their parts perfectly and McClenahan perfectly captured the tormented mind of his character.
