"Was ist denn bloß - mit Willi los? Grüß Sie Gott, Frau Stirnima" (and there are many other German titles for this one) or "What Is the Matter with Willi?" is a West German comedy movie from 1970, so this one is already over 45 years old. The screenplay is by Lichtenberg and Hachfeld and the director is Werner Jacobs, who was pretty prolific back then. But the star is Heinz Erhardt of course, one of Germany's greatest comedians ever. This film launched the final chapter of his career as he was already 60 years old at this point and this film is the first of four in which he plays a character named Willi (surnames differ in these films), who is a good likable guy, but creates chaos for everybody around him, last but not least himself. As it was typical with the 1970s, there is also lots of music in here and the title already gives away the catchiest song of the film. But it is really enough if you check out this song and no need to sit through the 90-minute movie as the comedy was not particularly entertaining I must say. I give this one a thumbs-down.
